No matter how sophisticated recording technology and distribution gets, there will always be room for the retro sounds of 1960s garage-punk with fuzzed-out guitars, insouciant vocals, and simple, thudding go-go drums. The all-female Norwegian band the Launderettes get the sound and attitude just right, and have charm to spare. This 2007 compilation gathers some earlier singles and album tracks culled from the ladies' first seven years together, including the witty "What Would Joan Jett Do?" and the highly melodic "Fluff N'Fold."
