| | Shakira She Wolf CD (2009)
Rich Baby songs
$15.15 Shakira's brand new English album She Wolf is an uptempo pop album. It is all about synthesizers and electronic concepts, all mixed with the world sounds that we are used to from Shakira.. sounds from countries like India, the Middle East and her home country of Colombia. She Wolf features a predominantly English track list with a follow up album of new and unique repertoire in Spanish to come in 2010. The title track "She-Wolf " boasts the infectious and energizing sound that made Shakira a household name, with a slightly more dancey/ electronic beat (about 125 beats per minute). Though most tracks on the upcoming album will be in English, Shakira chose to service the Spanish version of the first single, "Loba", two weeks before the English single is launched.
Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many styles she couldn't be contained on one album, splitting Oral Fixation in two. This time, she focuses on one sound only: a pulsating electro-disco that crosses all boundaries and welcomes all nationalities. Such ...

| | Source Presents Hip Hop Hits Vol. 9 CD (2004)
Rich Baby music CDs
$12.69 The Source is an apt name for the magazine that, by the early 2000s, had cemented itself as the leader in hip-hop writing, its vision firmly in sync with the pulse of the streets. The ninth volume of its always-awaited collection of timely rap hits predictably featured nothing off of the most recent Eminem record (due to an ongoing feud between The Source and the rapper), but it does offer up a slew of other hip-hop singles from 2004.
This compilation offers an excellent representation of the sprawling, multifaceted 2004 hip-hop scene. From some of the biggest crossover hits--Juvenile's naturally chopped-and-screwed "Slow Motion" and Petey Pablo's club jam "Freek-a-Leek"--to the underground pop of Slum Village's "Selfish" to the expert rhymes of Mobb Deep's "Got It Twisted," The Source celebrates hip-hop's diversity. The magazine wisely tips its collective cap to the R&B link in the rap chain with newcomer Akon's otherworldly ballad "Locked Out," which immediately follows one of the more frenetically flashy ...
| | Tom Teasley Drum: Ancient Traditions Today CD (2003)
Rich Baby songs
$28.49 Described in the Washington Post as a "percussionist in the widest and most exuberant sense of the word TOM TEASLEY combines percussion instruments and playing styles from Africa, India and the Middle East. He has fused this eclectic concept with American jazz and Western Classical music creating what noted jazz writer Bill Milkowski calls " a beautiful tapestry of rhythm." Tom frequently performs throughout the US and Europe. Modern Drummer magazine awarded his latest CD, GLOBAL GROOVILIZATION and video, GLOBAL FUSION PERCUSSION with extremely positive reviews. "Percussionist and drummer Tom Teasley successfully fuses various rhythmic ideas from around the world, emphasizing the universal concept of groove. This hip West-African/Indian/Middle Eastern-influenced stew will soon have you hooked." (Martin Patmos, Modern Drummer) "This video challenges you to become not only a more technically adept drummer, but a more creative and even innovative one. Open-minded drummers of all genres and veteran world percussionists looking for a fresh approach should find this a great educational resource." (Will Romano, Modern Drummer)Teasley came by his world music chops honestly, studying ethnic percussion with Glen Velez, Trichy Sankaran, Yacub Addy and Frank Malabe. In addition, Tom studied with drum set legend Joe Morello for many years. Tom holds a Master of Music degree from The Catholic University of America. He attended Peabody Conservatory and received the Bachelor of Music degree from the American University. A versatile and accomplished percussionist, Tom is constantly striving to extend the boundaries of existing musical styles and incorporate these diverse influences in his music. His multiple musical interests have instilled in him the need to create new sounds by combining timeless musical practices with contemporary influences.Tom presents 100+ concerts yearly of "The Drum: Ancient Traditions Today," a solo interactive educational performance and video release which traces the use of percussion in ethnic percussion instruments, western percussion and electronics. Sounds of indigenous instruments such as frame drums, shakers, kalimba and djembé, as well as traditional jazz instruments such as drumset and vibraphone, combined with state-of-the-art electronics create Tom's unique voice. Bridging the gap between musical concerts and performance art, Tom is much in demand as a soloist and collaborator. Tom served as percussion consultant, artistic collaborator and soloist for a newly commissioned millennium project performed by Washington's National Symphony. The work entitled "DC Citypiece" included elements ...
| | All Tomorrows Parties/Nico Live CDs (2007)
Rich Baby album
$14.05 (MP3 Available for Download) This double-disc set combines two live recordings by Nico from the early '80s, neither of them approaching the usual standard of a legitimate concert recording. The first CD, called "Incognito," features performances that fade out ("Saeta," "Femme Fatale"), stop abruptly ("Afraid"), or start in the middle ("The End"), and even when a track is complete, Nico herself may be all but inaudible. Annotator Dick Witts is able to offer little information about the source of the recording. He knows a bit more about the music on the second disc, which first appeared as an album called Janitor of Lunacy in 1996. This show was recorded at the Library Theatre in Manchester, England, in 1983. The quality of the recording is better than the first disc, but it still isn't very good. So, this album on the whole must be considered, in essence, a legal bootleg. That said, Nico offers a good selection of songs from her ...
