In celebration of the critically-acclaimed Children Running Through album, ATO Records and NYC-based Artist Den held a special, invite-only concert on the city's Lower East Side at the converted Angel Orensanz Synagogue. Anticipating this would be a magical evening, with Patty being backed by a prolific band and at times, a 5-piece string arrangement as well as Ian McIlagan, the show was captured on video in High Definition. After numerous inquiries from fans, this evening of music includes several songs performed for the first time from the then-just released album and other longtime favorites. Singer-songwriter Patty Griffin has gained a devoted following with her stunning voice, evocative melodies, and well-crafted lyrics, striking a chord with listeners and musicians alike. Among those who have recorded her songs are the Dixie Chicks, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Solomon Burke, and Jessica Simpson. Celebrating the release of her 2007 album CHILDREN RUNNING THROUGH, this invitation-only New York concert finds Griffin in superb form. Joined by keyboardist Ian McLagan (The Rolling Stones), a hardworking band, and a lush five-piece string ensemble, Griffin sings old favorites like "You Never Get What You Want," "Sweet Lorraine," and "Top of the World," as well as new standards like "Heavenly Day," "No Bad News," and "Stay on the Ride." Live From The Artists Den - Patty Griffin DVD
$10.49 In March 2005, Neil Young was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. Four days before he was scheduled for a lifesaving operation, he headed to Nashville, where he wrote and recorded the country folk album PRAIRIE WIND with old friends and family members. After the successful operation and recovery period, he returned to Nashville that August to play at the famed Ryman Auditorium, once again gathering together friends and family for this special performance. He also brought along Oscar-winning director Jonathan Demme, who in addition to making such hits as THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and PHILADELPHIA has made such successful concert films as STOP MAKING SENSE (with the Talking Heads) and STOREFRONT HITCHCOCK (with Robyn Hitchcock), as well as videos for the Pretenders and Bruce Springsteen. NEIL YOUNG: HEART OF GOLD begins with brief interviews with many of the participants, but then it's all about the music. Supported by his wife, Pegi, country star Emmylou Harris, the Nashville String Machine, the Memphis Horns, the Fisk University Jubilee Singers, and musicians Ben Keith, Spooner Oldham, Rick Rosas, Grant Boatwright, ...

$11.45 Like Billie Holiday, John Lee Hooker, and Kurt Cobain, among others, Lucinda Williams is an artist with that certain difficult-to-define quality, the ability to channel the collective soul through a voice that is intimate, personal, and entirely her own. WEST, Williams's 2007 release, bears all the hallmarks of her best work: excellent songcraft, poetically tough lyrics, and her angel-on-morphine ...
