Amazing Journey: The Story Of The Who Reviews: 3.5 stars out of 4 -- "[S]inger Roger Daltrey emerges as its thoughtful heart, reflecting on lunacy and loss with the vivid, emotional force he brings to Townshend's songs."-- David Fricke, Rolling Stone Amazing Journey: The Story Of The Who | List Price | $29.98 (You save $6.39) | | Studio | Universal Studios Home Video | | Orig Year | 2007 | | DVD Encoding | Region 1 | | All Time Sales Rank | 14721 | | CD Universe Part number | 7512215 | | Catalog number | 61102505 | | Discs | 2 | | Release Date | Nov 06, 2007 | | Rating | Not Rated | | Running Time | 120 Minutes | | Additional Info | Widescreen; Subtitled | | Movie Details | Color; Widescreen; Subtitled |
Amazing Journey: The Story Of The Who Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Amazing insights in their own words Very in-depth review of the history of The Who - in their own words. Includes recent interviews with Pete, Roger, and a few with John before his untimely death. Also has interviews with their manager, and with former drummer Kenney Jones. Also interesting insights from contemporaries Sting, The Edge, and Noel Gallagher from Oasis. Noel's comment is one the of the best I have ever heard - in regard to those dive-bombing bass runs in My Generation, Noel says " well if you could put that into words that's what you'd want on your grave stone, right."
Pete makes the incredible insight about the challenges that faced Roger in the early days - he says, well John is a genius, and Keith is a genius, and maybe I border on genius here and there, and well what is Roger -- he's just a singer. One other thing that is quite amazing - Pete seems to have aged in reverse. There are highlights from a December 1979 show in Chicago, and Pete looks quite worn out, and his eyes show the strain. Then three years later, after getting clean and sober for really the first time ever, and shaving the scraggly beard, and wearing neat clothes and a short haircut, he looks ten years younger. Final note - there is live footage from the "Live at Leeds" show in February 1970 - to actually see a visual snippet from the greatest live recording in rock and roll history - it's here. If you are a serious Who fan you need to own this one. Submitted by Michael (Canal Winchester, Ohio, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$20.25 THE VERY BEST OF includes a 46-page booklet with pictures and track information.
"Hole In The World" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
This 1994 greatest hits package (released in anticipation of the band's wildly successful reunion tour and album) supplants THEIR GREATEST HITS 1971-1975. It adds seven songs, but unfortunately deletes "Already Gone," one of their best rockers.
What's most interesting about THE VERY BEST OF THE EAGLES - apart from the presence of obviously classic songs like "Take It Easy" and "Hotel California" - is that it demonstrates that the band's esthetic ...

Among the final discs many highlights are looser alternate takes of "She" and "Streets ...

Amazing Journey: The Story Of The Who film
$7.59 Jefferson Airplane were less focused in 1969 than they had been in the Summer of Love two years before. Recorded at the Fillmore East, these performances find the Airplane coming off their most recent album, Volunteers, released a month earlier, with the band a lot looser (drug use aside) and fractured. The factions in the group were presenting themselves during performances, and this set is no exception. Guitarist ...
