$18.99 "Howlin' At The Moon", the latest studio disc from the BUDDAHEADS, featuring premier asian blues/rock guitarist-vocalist, Alan Mirikitani a.k.a B.B. Chung King, is an outstanding collection of pure, classy, diverse, awesome blues/rock heavy guitar power trio joy. "Joyful Noise" as we call it at GROOVEYARD RECORDS, a new label dedicated to outstanding TOTAL GUITAR. "Howlin' At The Moon" features 16 trax (78 minutes) of awesome top-shelf blues rock riffage from this amazing, gifted guitarist, that was recorded through the years. The music ranges from full-out killer blues/rock riff rippers, to classic mid-tempo in the back pocket blues burners, to cycodelic trippy hendrixy jams ("dance maria" is Alan's musical tribute toJimi), to deep beautiful dynamic bluesy minor ballads and everything in-between. There is something here for everybody. And as an added bonus, the "Howlin' At The Moon" disc features "special guest" blues/rock axeslinger supreme & good musical brother Philip Sayce jamming hard on his strat with Alan Mirikitani & the BUDDAHEADS on the title track. A killer BUDDAHEADS jam worthy of the price of admission alone. ...

$10.15 Born in Weymouth Ma, moving to Hingham Ma, then to California, then back to Peabody Ma. as a young lad. Staying put till the age of 15, then off again to North Conway, NH. where Kevin finished High School and quickly made his way to NYC to pursue a dream of Rock Stardom.Kevin started playing music at the ripe old age of 9 with the harmonica, then drum and bugle corps, then some piano lessons from Mom, who was a decent pianist herself. Dad was an Irish tenor who recorded some traditional Irish music back in the 40's. Kevin went on to play Guitar, then settled on the Bass because, as he says, " it had less strings to worry about".Once in NYC Kevin began studying Vocals, ear training and theory with Ann Ruckert, who toured with Joe Cocker, T Rex and countless others.Working with some bands of no particular note until meeting up with Tony Contos to form Firesign with Keith Ratner and Geoff Green to make an EP which ended up not doing well at all.But things where looking up when Tony started playing with a band called WOOFWOOF back in 1990, Kevin was a fan instantly, drawn by the incredible high energy punk, funk, reggae influenced rock to the point of wishing he could be a member... Going to almost every show and becoming friendly with Lead singer and founder of WOOFWOOF, Frank Carbone, Kevin found an opening when Then Bassist Paul Prescod was due to leave the band for reasons of a paternal nature. (His wife was pregnant with Twins).Kevin asked if he could audition, and knowing almost all of the tunes, slipped right in seamlessly. It was what seemed to be fate with the instant, almost perfect fit and feel.WOOFWOOF went on to record 2 cd's that garnered radio play all around the world with the coming of the Internet and was featured on a compilation cd produced by Morgan Fisher (Keyboardist, Mott the Hoople, Queen and others).WOOFWOOF Still plays the occasional show for charities such as the annual Hangdown Harrell event, Bikers Against Breast Cancer or personal fundraisers for friends who have lost loved ones or other tragic events. The Trade Center being one and a few years back, an event for Hale House (the haven for children of drug addicted mothers).Being around all these charitable events has brought Kevin to his current effort and live ...

Exodus Bulldornadius music CDs
$18.05 The Family Vineyard label, which has done consistently great work with reissues of little known and cult figures, has certainly taken the macro-view when it comes to the accumulated work of guitarist Loren MazzaCane Connors. After Ecstatic Yod issued the massive four-disc box set of Unaccompanied Acoustic Guitar Improvisations, Vols. 1-9: 1979-1980 in 1999, the door was open to focus on his other work, which is, admittedly, voluminous. First FV released the brilliantly compiled Night Through: Singles and Collected Works 1976-2004 in 2006. In 2007, they decided to focus more thematically by releasing this gorgeous double-disc set, mysteriously titled As Roses Bow: Collected Airs 1992-2002. The term "airs," when used as a verb, especially in relation to music, is defined as a solo, a song, or an aria. There are 43 such pieces here, considered by Connors to be his complete airs. Tracks are culled from recordings originally issued on different labels and albums, as well as singles, split singles, and even four previously unissued airs; they appeared on everything from Moonyean from Road Cone, Evangeline, Calloden Harvest, the Table of the Elements double-disc Sails, of course the original Airs album on Road Cone, and the more obscure St. Vincent's Newsboy Home. Disc one opens with four tracks from Hell's Kitchen Park, released on Black Label in 1993. "An Air," as with many of the cuts here, was adapted from the folk repertoire of Turlough O'Carolan's airs, as well as his other Irish ballads. That said, they are read through Connors' singular approach to the blues. Strained through them, not mashed up against them. This instrumental is followed by "Child" ...
