EVERARD ROWE “GIFT OF LOVE”The great writer Langston Hughes once wrote, “Why bid a poet write and then not let him sing?” In case of Everard Rowe his gift comes in songs and lyrics and indeed he does truly sing…and sing…and sing. Like his debut CD “UNCAGED FOR JESUS” Everard continues to “Give Jehovah Praise” in this, his second release entitled “GIFT OF LOVE”. Everard began singing Gospel Music exclusively. Under the direction of his pastor, Reverend Owen Gordon, who is now principal of the Jamaica Bible College, Everard flourished as a vocalist often accompanying himself on the guitar. On this new CD, his voice enthralls our ears and spirits beseeching us, today, to honor the Father.Yes, Everard never lost sight of his true goal of spreading the word that had so infused his life. To God be the glory.On his first CD, UNCAGED FOR JESUS, Everard had the assistance of Mighty Roots Incorporated under the leadership of popular bassist Englishman and mastered the final product at Pete's Music Barn. The release was a compilation of all original compositions and was well received by the audience selling out as quickly as he could have them produced. Since 2000, Everard has been hard at work on the new release, GIFT OF LOVE, which was recorded at Shango Productions in Washington, D.C. with additional production taking place in New York. The CD was mastered at Soundvision Recording Studios in Randallstown, Maryland, by noted engineer and keyboardist Joe Cooper of Sandjoe Productions Incorporated. This release contains a collection of gospel adaptations as well as more of Everard's original compositions, done in mostly a reggae groove reflecting his Jamaican roots, and other musical and cultural influences.It has not been all studio work, however. Whenever possible, Everard is doing what he truly feels God directed him to do, perform and spread the Word in performances throughout the United States and the Caribbean.
