Coverz-House X Trance album
$18.49 Stéphane Pompougnac's third installment of the his Costes series of mix sessions is strong in track selection and gradually makes a smooth transition into seamless mixes. At first, Costes, Vol. 3 starts off with a chunky mix of songs, and leaves one dreading that the rest of the album will be the same. Gradually Pompougnac shakes off the style and moves on to smoother mixes of foreign language and house-based tunes. With its quirky track selection, the album does nicely as an upbeat lounge compilation or a soothing downtempo house mix. ~ Diana Potts
French DJ/Artist St‚phane Pompougnac's third installment in this popular series featuring the best tracks heard at France's premiere club, bar and cafe. The Hotel Costes series serves as a ''tastemaker'' (read: trendsetting) for the rest of the world. His penchant for choosing the very best music for this series burns bright as he incorporates ...
| | Ultimate Dance Party 1997 CD (1996)
Coverz-House X Trance CD music
$7.59 The groove goes on and on with this collection of some of 1997's most popular club hits. From the obligatory "Macarena" to Ace of Bases's "Beautiful Life," most of the big hits are here. For those who like straight club mixes, there are a few nice ones here: Reel 2 Reel's "I Like To Move It" gets a nice treatment, as does Annie Lenox's "No More I Love You's" which gets a good going-over courtesy of DJ Junior Vasquez.
The jams run consecutively, with no space between tracks, so you can put this disc on at a party and not worry about those annoying fade-outs, or vibe-killing spaces between tunes. Other highlights here include Amber's "This is Your Night," and the original club mix ...

| | Breaking Benjamin We Are Not Alone CD (2004)
Coverz-House X Trance songs
$10.45 When Aaron Fink and Markus James left Universal Records act Lifer to join the then-unsigned Breaking Benjamin, many hard-rock fans were skeptical. WE ARE NOT ALONE, the latter band's sophomore effort, promises to silence the naysayers for good. Led by powerful vocalist Ben Burnley, Breaking Benjamin delivers a snap-tight, streamlined brand of heavy alternative rock with occasional detours into the rhythmic funk-metal territory inhabited by Limp Bizkit and Korn.
With strong melodies reminiscent of Staind or Incubus at their most accessible, the Pennsylvania combo makes good use of soaring vocal harmonies and unusual production touches (the piano intro on "Breakdown" and the swirling, phase-shifting guitars on "Believe") to separate itself from ...

| | Fiddlin Peter Watercott Watercott,Fiddlin' Peter Vol. 2-Folk Songs & Fiddle Tunes CD (2003)
Coverz-House X Trance music CDs
$18.99 Folk Songs and Fiddle Tunes volume twoI was about twelve years old when I first picked up my sister Kit's sunburst "Stella" guitar and began playing the tunes in her collection of songbooks. Sitting in the family room with my young sisters and brothers, singing songs that made us laugh and wonder...songs that link us to our humanity...past, present, and future. Contrasting the strength and independence of "Sweet Betsy from Pike" with the weary homesickness of Civil War soldiers in "Tenting Tonight", these songs are as relevant to us today as they were to folks a hundred years ago. From the opening "Oklahoma Waltz" to the closing "Westphalia Waltz", and every ballad and fiddle tune in ...

| | Michael Lee Firkins Black Light Sonatas CD (2007)
Coverz-House X Trance music CDs
$14.59 In the early '90s, six-string whiz kid Michael Lee Firkins was getting widespread praise in all the guitar publications at the time -- especially with the release of his self-titled debut album from 1990. And despite releasing several other albums throughout the remainder of the decade, guitar shred albums abruptly took a backseat to other rock styles -- hence affording Firkins a cult following, but certainly not on the scale of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, or Yngwie Malmsteen. And after 1999's Decomposition, fans patiently waited for Firkins' next solo released. And waited...and waited. Finally arriving in 2007, Black Light Sonatas is exactly what you'd expect from Firkins -- bluesy and country-based licks abound, without sacrificing any of the rock. Featured are tunes that showcase Firkins' soloing capabilities, especially the album ...
