The artist Jay Battle , formerly known as 'Young Jay', started rapping at the age of 13. By the age of 23 he had started his own record label. He then followed with the release of his first album, 'Be A Fan 4 Life'. This was followed by 'Welcome 2 tha Game' in 1998. The focus and direction of jay battles songs have been very true to life. They have focused on independent money, hustling, street life survival, and the entrepreneurial mind. The artist Jay Battle was born in San Leandro, but grew up in the hard streets of east Oakland. These same streets have been the home to such noted artists as , 'Too Short'', 'Richie Rich', M.C. Hammer, and 'Toni Toni Toni'. Jay Battle has been featured with various noted rappers, singers, and entertainers from the bay area. This has included projects with 'King George' ,former member of the 'Master P' group, 'Tru'. This also included the albums,'tru player'and the 'Playas and Hustlas' compilation. The song ,'jack material', from the 'playas and hustlas' compilation was featured in 'rap sheet magazine'. The magazine made it a point to note that 'young jay' was the most promising artist on the featured tracks. This same album streaked to 59 on billboard charts top 100. Jay battle then exploded on the scene with his solo release,'young jay', 'welcome to the game'. As a result of this release, the top music representatives of the bay area were all ears. Jay battle has made major moves with his two prodigies, Joc and Jimmy Conway. These young artists bring an enormous amount of talent to the table. They both exhibit a chemistry that is needed in this business. Both of these artists write their own lyrics and hooks. Working in tandem ,they have produced the projects, Jay Battle and Joc, 'Boss In the Game', Jay Battle and Jimmy Conway,' 'partners in crime'. There will also be the much awaited release of the dvds and soundtracks, 'high performance and smooth rides, and 'be a fan 4 life'. These will be distributed and marketed worldwide, and also online. To date jay battle has been a very significant part of the 'mandatory hyphy tour'. The song 'grind on' is featured on the 'Snoop dog and JT the bigga figga' , mandatory hyphy compilation. The song , which contains a very catchy hook , will soon be released. The tour , which is backed by the independent legend , JT the bigga figga , and 'the big homie' Snoop Dogg will cause Jay Battle to become a more recognized figure in the game. With all being said, we look forward to major moves that will further add to his repertoire.
