Matt Linder has been making electronic music since the mid 1980's. Getting into midi and electronic sequencing from its inception, and building a home studio where he could write and record music at will. Over the years Matt has recorded hundreds of songs from rock, experimental, techno, or cinematic film scores. Recently Matt has been going through hours of tapes, midi files, and digital recordings to remix and remaster, or even re-record, these songs and release them on to CD. Matt currently lives in Los Angeles and works in visual effects as a 3D Lighter on motion picture films like "The Chronicles of Narnia",, "Night at the Museum", and the upcoming "Incredible Hulk". Matt performs live, as often as vfx film deadlines will allow, in coffee houses and clubs throughout the Los Angeles area.Relic was written recorded in June 1997 using only Cakewalk, a Emu Proteus, Roland Juno-2, Korg Prophecy, and the lovely, organic SH-101. Everything was sequenced and recorded live to DAT tape.Matt Linder also plays in "Nerve Picnic" http://www.nervepicnic.com, and has an experimental ambient project "The Mood of Space" http://www.myspace.com/moodofspace, and a psychadelic folk project "The Mood of Dirk" http://www.myspace.com/moodofdirk. Following in the footsteps of the previous collection, A Windham Hill Christmas, Vol. 2 gathers more relaxing, sophisticated holiday music as performed by Windham Hill's roster of artists. The collection finds the right balance between traditional and contemporary, both in terms of its sound and its choice of songs. Will Ackerman and David Cullen's "I Wonder as I Wander" sounds gently modern, while Paul McCandless' "In Dulci Jubilo" has a slightly more traditional bent. Tracy Silverman and Thea Suits' strings and flute interpretation of "Away in a Manger" mixes both approaches and is breathtaking in its lovely simplicity. On October 15, 2003, the brother-in-law team of McMahan & Ingram released their new CD, I Had a Dream Last Night. The album contains 14 tracks of romantic love songs. There are 10 instrumentals and 4 vocal tracks. The work is a compilation of the respective talents of C.H. McMahan, songwriter and producer, and Bill Ingram, musical arranger and pianist. C.H.'s musical skills and education is directly traced to the teaching and talents of his father, a gifted vocalist and guitarist. In the late 1950's he recognized that C.H. had a gift for music, bought him a small guitar and began weekly lessons in both guitar and voice. Thus began C.H.'s lifelong passion for music. Although he was talented and tempted, C.H. did not choose to pursue a professional career in music until very recently. He has for many years maintained a very successful career outside the music industry. Musical desires continued to burn inside him and on December 29, 2001, C.H. decided to finally feed that flame. He began writing songs and built a state of the art recording studio and dedicated it to his loving parents, Cliff and Eva McMahan. C.H. says, "The studio has become my most precious sanctuary. I spend many joyous and creative hours there writing, playing and recording my original songs. The songs are pouring out of me like water being released from flood gates. The beautiful feelings the music evokes is incomparable.
