(01/07/09)I would like to thank those of you who are using japan i-tunes to purchase my downloads.I want to give a special thanks to you because this is where most of my digital sales are taking place and, I must say I was a bit surprised when it first started happening but it is very exciting to think that this music is blessing people around the world and, especially in Japan.I also want to wish you all a happy new year.Rick Harvey, the founder of Soul'd Out, is a dedicated and talented musician. Although Crimson to Snow is his very first album, he has been writing songs for about three years and playing music even longer. He received his first guitar at the age of 14 and taught himself to play; not knowing this would become a lifelong pleasure. Unfortunately, his musical gifts would not be used for Gods glory for many years. He soon became caught up in the world. Music was pushed to a back burner while drugs consumed him. Eventually, he did find himself in various rock bands, playing his heart out at clubs and bars. He somehow made his way to a small local church and began attending regularly, except maybe the Sunday after a big gig Saturday night. Then one day a tragedy happened that changed his life forever. After working on roofs for 17 years, he had learned to be painstakingly careful of the many possible dangers of the business, but accidents happen. He fell in a pool of hot tar, burning his hands and torso to a terrifying degree. All the skin graphs and all the doctors care in the world could not get him back into the condition he used to be in; however, God could get him into an even better one. And that's exactly what he did. Through his recovery process, Rick drew closer to the Lord and finally decided it would be best to give his music back to the One who gave him everything. During the past six years, God has enhanced his talents, giving him the desire and ability to play multiple instruments, including the bass. He now plays the bass for his local church worship team every Sunday and plays for New Hope (Christian based 12 step recovery program) every Friday. In between times, he practices the songs he writes or learns old hymns from his mother-in-law who plays the piano at his local church. Every song he writes is inspired by God. He uses his past experiences combined with the benevolence God has shown him in recent years to produce the kind of moving lyrics that reach straight to the soul. $12.65 On June 1, 1965, the hippie freaks Charlatans and some poets and friends and a big bag of fun began an extended residency at the Red Dog Saloon in Virginia City, Nevada, just across the border from Northern California. This two-month-long stint was important for at least two reasons. First, Charlatans guitarist Mike Ferguson and George Hunter together produced a rock concert poster in advance of the residency to promote these performances. This poster — identified by poster art enthusiasts as "The Seed" — is almost certainly the first psychedelic concert poster. Later in the year, San Francisco's Family Dog organization copied the idea to promote their concert productions. In 1966, when the Fillmore Auditorium began booking rock acts nightly, they, too, used the idea. Through to the end of the decade, rock concert poster artwork became a mainstay of San Francisco's music ...

Crimson To Snow CD music
$16.45 Malcolm Rollick started playing on New York sidewalks at the age of seventeen. She then headed off to college, collected degrees in Music and in Literature, and graduated to late night subway entertaining with friend and co-writer Gerard Smith (TV on the Radio). Malcolm and Gerard held a summer long residency at the now forgotten 'Stinger' club in Williamsburg in 2000. Their music was performed with and by members of 'Coco Rosie' and 'TV on the Radio'. Most memorably Tundai (TV...) and Malcolm screamed angry jazz down each other's throats until Malcolm got distracted and began reading aloud from Moby Dick. She apologizes to Jason Sitek... yes, i still have your book. Ian Coletti wrote the first four songs for his project "Angriest Pussycat" ...
| | Fred Grittner Copper-Lined Sky CD (2007)
Crimson To Snow music CDs
$6.39 Copper-Lined Sky begins the day with "Savior Blues”, rocking gospel-tinged tune with gritty harmonica leads and pounding drums. With its relentless beat, you can't help but tap your foot and sing along. • "Under The Influence Of Love." Fred gently picks the dobro in the background while crooning this love song for the common man. A bit of country, a bit of folk and a lot of promise. • "I Saw Through You." Love the sound of brush drums. Yummy! With its harmonica leads & fill and the soft dobro strumming in the background, this number is a delicate masterpiece of fine artistry in motion. • "Fire At Midnight." Nice, feel-good ditty. • "Copper-Lined Sky." This is attitude with a capitol A. Nice chordal transition from the verse to the bridge. A muted cowbell on the drums, gives the taste of Linda Ronstadt's, "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me". A very classy production. Play that harp, Danny! • "Common Prayer." Carolyn Boulay adds her understated and well-defined violin support to this folksy drama. Fred's obvious talent for finding the hook is evident on this classic example. • "Always ...
