| | Another Dave December Breeze CD Another Dave Discography of CDs
WARNING: Do NOT operate heavy machinery while listening to this CD!December Breeze is a collection of soothing piano & sax instrumental Christmas music by Another Dave (David Cudo on soprano and alto sax, & Suzannah Doyle on keyboards & synths). Special guest vocalist Mark Kershner appears on two songs, so, okay, it’s *mostly* an instrumental album!Originally released in 1996, the album resulted in Another Dave being asked to perform at the White House in Washington, D.C. the next holiday season. The duo said "yes," and sashayed back East to do so. They didn't get to meet the Prez or First Lady, but they did meet Buddy, President Clinton's chocolate lab puppy, who had more secret service agents than any of the musicians there that day (Buddy, six, Musicians, zero). And Dave & Suz were gifted with boxes of signed presidential "M & M's."For photos and commentary on Another Dave's visit to the White House, visit:http://suzdoyle.com/performing/white-house/But back to December Breeze. The album has just been re-released in 2007, with a new album design and the same great music. (Hmmm, could this be a cheap attempt to get more free presidential M & Ms??)The CD has a tasty mix of easy listening, light jazz versions of such holiday classics as Silent Night, Away in a Manger, and O Holy Night.Vocalist Mark Kershner lends his signature crystal clear voice to a thoughtful retelling of "There's No Place Like Home" (a Sammy Cahn update of the classic "Home Sweet Home" by Rowle --Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home . . . ), and to a haunting, spacious version of the classic jazz Christmas lullaby "A Child is Born" by Thad Jones.Kershner is a seasoned vocalist with 12 albums to his credit. Even though December Breeze is primarily an instrumental soprano sax & piano album, Dave & Suz were delighted to feature Mark on two tunes, just because! But back to more about the songs! The CD sashays around the world with fresh interpretations of Bring a Torch, Jeannette Isabella (French Carol), Norwegian Christmas (a homage to Dave's ancestors from Norway), and new spins on the European classics Still, Still, Still, What child is This?, and Coventry Carol. Then it travels waaaay outside the box with an combination Afrikan/ Klezmer rendition of the traditional hymn "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen." Just a bit sassy, to be sure, but somehow it works. Then the musical journey returns home with 2 original tunes by Another Dave, Gracewinds (dedicated to Suz's favorite music store), and December Breeze, based on a a lovely melody that kept haunting Dave to be written and recorded.TRIVIA: Even though December Breeze is ostensibly a Christmas Album, many people tell us they listen to this album year round, because it is so relaxing (again, keep away from the power tools while giving it a listen.)So, if you're looking for something nourishing this year for the holidays, check out December Breeze. It's cheaper than Prozac! (Did we mention how soothing it is?!!)For more info on December Breeze, feel free to visit:http://suzdoyle.com/december-breeze “Of all the musicians who performed [at the White House], you [were] the closest to sublimity,” - Cody Petterson, White House Intern. December Breeze
$14.79 Steven Santoro, born Steven Kowalczyk, from Massachusetts, did not have to look far to find his new name. His grandfather, Libertore Santoro was a saxophone player and inspired Steven, the fourth grader, to play the horn as well. But during his freshman year in High School, Steven's musical interests took a turn. Even though he loved playing classic Big Band charts like Count Basie’s “Queen Bee”, he truly found himself while sitting in front of a piano writing songs. Steven's songwriting and singing addiction eventually led him to the University of Massachusetts to study Afro-American Music and Jazz with Dr. Horace Boyer. While learning to sing and improvise on classic 32 bar songs made famous in the Jazz and Swing eras, Steven wrote and arranged his own pieces. Some were inspired by the form and tone of the classics and others continued on the path of the pop music of his generation.Steven's ability to authentically juggle the two styles is what years later, caught the ears of Ahmet Ertegun, the legendary founder of Atlantic Records. After a stint of teaching Special Education classes in Los Angeles, Steven recorded his first album, “Moods And Grooves”, for Atlantic Records with producers Ertegun and Shane Keister. Released worldwide, it rose to #20 on the Jazz Radio Charts in the USA while Kowalczyk toured the country as an opener for FOURPLAY ( Bob James, Nathan East, Lee Ritenour, Harvey Mason). After parting with Atlantic Records, Steven played to eager audiences in London and “Moods And Grooves”shot to #1 on United Kingdom's Jazz FM Radio.Back in New York City, while he played to excited audiences in the Village and Midtown, Steven taught part-time at The Public School Repertory Company, a performing arts alternative High School located in the heart of Times Square. There he worked with a creative and restless crew of NYC's Hip Hop culture, ...

December Breeze
$12.69 A FRESH BEGINNING... is mG’s premiere LP with all original songs.“I recorded it in my hometown in Montana. On a week long retreat with the good old days and long-time friend and now producer BZ,This album was cultivated and put down, REAL style. It was a great accomplishment as well as an inspiring piece of work. There’s so much more to come, I’m excited!!” -mG-------------mG, a man of the God that says"I am the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the father unless they first come to me... I am the gate," These are the words of Yesua the messiah that ring throughout my entire being. My name, mG, was revealed to me at the beginning of '06 as man of GOD. And that the smaller I become, the bigger He becomes in whatever the situation. The music that I write is greatly influenced by what the Spirit of God is teaching me at the time. I pray that these fresh hip-hop tracks will reach this new generation as well as previous generations. I love all types of music, I mainly listen to Worhip, Jazz, R&B, Classical, and occasionally rap. :-) I was born in H-town (Houston, TX) and I was raised up in the snow capped rocky mountains in western Montana. M-i-s-s-o-u-l-a to be exact. I had been writing poems and songs since 1999. I started playing drums for churches since I was 16 which exposed me to worship in a whole new way. After graduating from High School (yay! I did it!) I took a year off and decided if I would go to a recording arts school in Florida, or a film acting school in New York. So....After graduating from one of the top 5 recording arts schools in the USA (great place!!! www.fullsail.com) outside of Orlando, I completed a 4 month internship at Transcon Studios (very nice recording studio in Orlando where everyone from Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and Brittney Spears to R. Kelly, Ray Charles, Eminem, and Dr. ...
