$25.35 Todd Tamanend Clark was born on August 10, 1952 in Greensboro, Pennsylvania, and is of Onodowaga-Lenape descent. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Slippery Rock University and a Master of Arts in Professional Growth from Indiana University. He is the author of four books of poetry including the forthcoming "Dark Thunder" and is also a long-time civil rights activist with the American Indian Movement and various other indigenous organizations. Clark is an accomplished avant-garde composer whose first recording was released in 1975. He is a versatile multi-instrumentalist who plays synthesizer, sampler, theremin, vocoder, electric guitar, native flute, ocarina, and both electronic and acoustic percussion, as well as vocalizing in a deep and expressive Morrisonian baritone. His six children participate in many of his projects. The album "Staff, Mask, Rattle" is a twenty-four song cycle based on the Native American history of the northeastern woodlands of Turtle Island. These compositions combine to form a two and a half hour concept album of all instrumental electronic soundscapes that uncannily portray each of their intended topics. The opening cut "Primal Origins" is a dissonant ambient noisescape using sixteen tracks of overdubbed guitar to approximate the creation of the material universe. "Roots Of The World ...

Restored CD music
$17.09 - - ABOUT THE TRIO - - Dave Fisher possesses lot of the trademarks of the old fashioned kind of folk singer. Never had a “voice lesson” , or much of anything in the way of guitar training at any formal music school. Got his start by learning how to play guitar from a veteran folk singer who kindly showed him what he knew, including such songs as Rye Whiskey. Sang around campfires out among the Rocky Mountains and yes, sometimes traveled around carrying a guitar with just the clothes on his back and little else. Naturally. His lifelong love of music and his dedication to the art and craft of music-making inevitably brought him to share his music through playing with and performing for others. In 2001 Dave found harmonica and tin whistle player Lloyd Allen could provide melody leads, fills and accompaniment to his songs. Lloyd found the guitar accompanist he needed for his Celtic whistle tunes. Multi instrumentalist Anita Niederer joined The Celtic Cowboys later on the upright bass. This group, either as a trio or duo combination, has given several hundred performances. Dave has given well over a thousand solo performances in addition to that. This CD album is comprised mostly of material that has proven popular with their audiences, people of all ages and walks of life, and has been produced partly in response to listeners requests for one. For more about the trio and the musicians, please visit our web site. - - ABOUT THE MUSIC - - [ CD program time 50:31 ] The fastest way to find out if you’ll like this CD is to listen to the audio clips, rather than to read about it. Or, better still, read while you listen. 77 per cent of the music time is songs, 23 per cent is tin whistle instrumentals. Although a couple of pieces employ finger picking ...
| | Traynham, Mac & Jenny Sweetest Way Home CD (2007)
Restored music CDs
$16.45 About Mac & Jenny TraynhamMac and Jenny Traynham are a husband and wife duo who specialize in the early country duet style of singing and playing old-time country and mountain music. They draw their repetoire from a wide variety of sources from the Appalachian mountains of Virginia and beyond. Citing as their influences are well-known names from the genre such as the Original Carter Family, the Delmore Brothers and The Blue Sky Boys. On the other hand, they are at home with the old-time fiddle and banjo styles of their home area, Floyd County, in the southern Blue Ridge area of Virginia. Their main music style is a throwback to the Golden Era of American Country music when music from the tradition of the rural home atmosphere was discovered and put forth 'live' on radio programs daily across the entire country. The sound and songs of that time were preserved on 78 RPM recordings which have been collected and re-released to be enjoyed and become sources for inspiration to a new generation like the Traynhams. Both Mac and Jenny are native to Virginia and have lived in the Southwest portion since the mid 70's. With strong backgrounds in religious and old-time music, they began singing together in 1979 sharing an interest in learning selected songs primarily from the recordings of the early pioneers of country music. Over the years their repetoire has grown to include ballads, sweetheart songs, western, and gospel numbers. Banjo and fiddle tunes from the region are included as well.Beginning in 1981, they first publically performed several songs on a live radio program at WBOB Galax Va hosted by well-known radio host and fiddler's convention MC, Harold Mitchell . ...
