(2 Customer Reviews)
God-fearing metalheads Demon Hunter make a racket that would surely be labeled evil by anyone not listening closely; they appear to be influenced by such practitioners of darkness as Slayer and Pantera. Perhaps the only indication of the band's alliance with the powers of good is a marked ear for melody, showing up amidst the otherwise muscular, heavy, metal-core mayhem.
Demon Hunter sparingly employs more traditional vocals and moody textures throughout the roaring, rapid firestorm of the songs. "Lead Us Home" has an anthemic chorus, and "Fading Away" balances poppier sounds with a tight, metallic breakdown. Even if rock is the "devil's music," Demon Hunter aren't afraid to use it to get their point across.
In this DVD/CD set, the band's 4th album reunites them with producer Aaron Sprinkle and mixer Machine. The fans (or 'Hunters' as they prefer) who have tattooed themselves with the band's iconic logo (demon skull with a bullet hole through its forehead) are joined in their anticipation by the metal masses at large. Included are 2 extra tracks aw well as a DVD with extra extended footage, plus exclusive limited packaging including large format booklet with exclusive studio photos, lyrics, liner notes, and more, plus exclusive postcard set, necklace with pendant, and sticker. Storm The Gates Of Hell Music Storm The Gates Of Hell Music Storm The Gates Of Hell Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Dude this rocks Every song is really good on this album. Love the harmony vocals and love the screams as well. It's got very catchy verses & lots of cool drums goin on. These dudes need to release another cd soon. DH keeps huntin! This is the 4th and latest release from Christian metal veterans Demon Hunter, and this is, in my opinion, their second strongest release to date. I say second, because Summer of Darkness was such a special album that it would take something amazing for me to say an album is better than that. As for this album, I think the best songs are "Storm the Gates of Hell", "Lead Us Home", "Carry Me Down" and "I Am You". Ryan's vocals are as good as ever and tries to incorporate some higher pitched screams which work well with the music. This is a very solid release that any Demon Hunter fan should pick up. Storm The Gates Of Hell music CDs
$8.85 Stryper may have looked like the average hair metal band in the 1980s, but there was meaning behind their music. Replacing the genre's typical fury with faith, the Christian rockers created their name from an acronym: Salvation Through Redemption Yielding Peace, Encouragement and Righteousness. From the screaming sounds of "To Hell With The Devil" to power ballad "Honestly," this 2004 concert from Puerto Rico includes all the bands biggest ...

| | Golden Earring Seven Tears CD (1971) (Import) Netherlands
Storm The Gates Of Hell music CDs
$19.99 Seven Tears finds Golden Earring continuing to develop its distinctive blend of hard rock and prog elements, but the end result is not as consistent as 1970's Golden Earring. The big problem this time out is that the group's adventurous genre-hopping tendencies don't always result in strong songs: "Silver Ships" is a soft, science fiction-influenced song that generates a potent atmosphere but lacks the strong arrangement and sense of dynamics that would allow it to take flight, and "You're Better Off Free" loses sight of its catchy tune with a lengthy midsection guitar jam that derails an otherwise interesting song. Despite these problems, Seven Tears shows a band willing to take big risks to transform its combination of elements into a totally unique style. When this alchemy ...

Storm The Gates Of Hell songs
$9.05 AFRO BLUE is a compilation album collecting McCoy Tyner's work for the Telarc Label. The work dates from the late 1990s and 2000s, and while the music may lack the ferocity of some of Tyner's classic dates from the '60s and '70s, it doesn't lack for dazzling musicianship and Tyner's inimitable touch. The Latin-tinged numbers ("Blue Bossa;" "Carriba") are standouts, as are the tracks from 2004's ILLUMINATIONS and his sessions ...
| | Citay Little Kingdom CD (2007)
Storm The Gates Of Hell album
$13.85 Citay's second album is a guitar lover's paradise. Ezra Feinberg (Piano Magic) and Tim Green (Fucking Champs) play a wide variety of acoustic, electric, and synthesized guitars on Little Kingdom and create a lush, layered sound that rewards close listening or is perfect for letting wash over you like a stream of shimmering water. The record plays like a stoner version of a Fripp and Eno collaboration with the two guitarists trading licks and creating loads of trippy atmosphere. Maybe it's more like a post-grad version of the Allman Brothers. It's not all guitar noodling though; don't get that impression. Feinberg and Green prove to be adept at shifting dynamics, creating varying moods, and crafting an overall mood that's both utterly relaxed and somehow majestic at the same time. Sometimes they are content to just noodle away in intertwined loops of melody; sometimes the songs build to crescendos of noise as the guitars rise and rise. There are a couple songs that feature vocals (provided by Feinberg and the angelic voices of Tahlia Harbour and April Hayley) and near-traditional song structure. "On the Wings" is one of these and provides one of the highlights of the album. When it starts soaring into the stratosphere near the end, it's hard not to feel some kind of stirring in your soul. For the most part, though, talk of songs, sounds, and instrumentation almost feels like a distraction. Little Kingdom is more about mood and feel. If it didn't have the connotations it does, ...
