Against cemented their status os one of australia's premier hardcore bands with their last full length album 'left for dead' which was embraced by the hardcore community and received rave reviews in the media. In the two years since their last release they have toured nationally with strung out, raised fist, agnostic front, mindsnare and way too many supports to mention. The new album has pushed the envelope in terms of production and songwriting due to the first solidified lineup since 2001 which includes shaun cash from parkway drive. The album also features guest appearances from scott vogel and nick jett of terror as well as roger miret of agnostic front. Loyalty & Betrayal album
$9.49 Even though Avenged Sevenfold's first two albums clearly got them lumped into the emo camp, the California quintet always hinted at the heavy metal influence of bands like Iron Maiden. With their major-label debut CITY OF EVIL, not only have they fleshed out these tendencies via the intricate riffing of dual guitarists Zacky Vengeance and Synyster Gates, but they've begun to dabble with more intricate, prog-like song structures. And with singer M. Shadows recovering from vocal chord surgery, he employs a considerably more melodic approach.
The first half of CITY cleaves to what longtime fans have come to expect: dive-bombing call-and-response riffing and furious double-bass-drum attacks, peppering cuts like the soaring "Burn It Down" and the equally ferocious "Blinded in Chains." Following the power-ballad tendencies of "Seize the Day," with its subtle piano accompaniment and Shadow's full-bodied ...

| | Kreator Endless Pain CD (1985) Remastered
Loyalty & Betrayal songs
$10.45 Kreator would eventually become one of the dominant European thrash outfits of the late '80s, but their 1985 debut, Endless Pain, wasn't much more than a musical starting point from which the band sorely needed to grow. Promising moments during numbers like "Total Death," "Storm of the Beast," and "Living in Fear" hint at the group's eventual ...

| | Stanley Turrentine Salt Song CD (1971) Bonus Track; Limited Edition; Digipak
Loyalty & Betrayal music CDs
$5.95 Stanley Turrentine's stint with Creed Taylor's CTI label may not have produced any out-and-out classics on the level of the very best LPs by Freddie Hubbard, Hubert Laws, or George Benson, but the bluesy tenorist's output was consistently strong and worthwhile for all but the most stridently anti-fusion listeners. Salt Song was Turrentine's second album for CTI, and while it's perhaps just a small cut below his debut Sugar, it's another fine, eclectic outing that falls squarely into the signature CTI fusion sound: smooth but not slick, accessible but not simplistic. In general, keyboardist Eumir Deodato's arrangements have plenty of light funk and Brazilian underpinnings, the latter often courtesy of percussionist Airto Moreira. The first three cuts are the most memorable, beginning with a ten-minute exploration of the abrupt time signature shifts of Freddie Hubbard's "Gibraltar." Though a hard bop version might have returned to the theme a little less often, Turrentine's solo sections are full of ideas, befitting ...
| | Andrew Healey Urban Songs CD (2008)
Loyalty & Betrayal songs
$6.49 Urban Songs is the debut EP by Auckland New Zealand Singer/Songwriter, Andrew Healey. Healey recorded, produced and played most of the instruments on this 6-track CD, with a little help from several collaborators at Glass Onion Studios in Mt Wellington, Auckland. Many will recognize Healey from his numerous solo appearances over the years at popular Auckland venues. His intense performances, expressive voice and melodic, well structured songs set him apart from others in Auckland’s music scene. Though Urban Songs is his first solo recording, Healey first appeared on the 2006 compilation album, On the Horizon: a Songwriters’ Collection, with an acoustic performance of ‘Little King’ – a song about the relationship between father and son. New Zealand Musician Magazine singled out this song, describing it as ‘moving.’ A rearranged version of ‘Little King’ appears on Urban Songs, along with five other pop gems, like the caustic ‘Sick Love,’ the frenetic ‘Stand,’ and the beautifully uncomplicated ‘Sailing.’Look out for Healey over the coming months as he hits the road accompanied by a number of musical friends. Urban Songs is just a taste of things to come; he has dozens of songs in his repertoire and plans to release a full length album in 2008 – watch this space.\"Urban Songs\" - Andrew Healey. 25 October 2007 ...
