Flyleaf Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) GET THIS CD This is such a fresh addition to the music world of mainstream today. Her lyrics are fresh, songs are catchy, and voice is a relief from all the other bands. I highly recommend getting this CD with no ambiguity! Where is it? I haven't actually gotten this CD yet, but I've heard quite a few of the songs on there. But I can't seem to find it anywhere, I keep hearing that it's sold out. But hopefully I can get my hands on this one soon because it's an awesome CD, the songs are all really cool. Hypnotic! Pleasantly surprised! This is one of those first CD's that just impress. Kick Butt all the way and very well done. The sound/production is excellent, this band is headed for great stuff. Reminds a little of the Divinyls but on steroids! Enjoyable. Submitted by NYTodd (Winnetka, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 2 found this helpful.

| | Repo! The Genetic Opera DVD (2008) Widescreen; Subtitled
Flyleaf
$14.65 Begun in 2002 as a Los Angeles stage production by writers Darren Smith and Terrence Zdunich, REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA was designed as a gory, comedic Grand Guignol to appeal more to club goers than fans of musical theater. One fan, aspiring director Darren Lynn Bousman, who has since worked on the SAW franchise, vowed to one day direct a film version of the show. Six years (and five SAW films) later, he has made good on his promise with a bizarre, gory, and unique piece of work that is as sure to entertain as it is to polarize its audience. In the year 2056, following an epidemic of human organ failure, the GeneCo Corporation--owned by the mafia-like Largo family--grows and installs new organs on a massive scale. The business, though, necessitates the employment of repo men to reclaim the organs from clients who miss their payments. Repo man and single father Nathan Wallace (Anthony Head, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) keeps his job a secret from his terminally ill daughter, Shilo (Alexa Vega), doing it only to pay for her costly medication. ...
| | Saw V DVD (2008) Widescreen; Director's Cut; Subtitled; Unrated
Flyleaf
$14.59 Continuing on with its story despite the death of namesake killer Jigsaw in the third installment, SAW V concerns itself with detailing who will carry on with his bloody work. Director David Hackl, the production designer on the previous three films, retains their familiar charnel house look. Though there are fewer grisly death sequences, faithful viewers will enjoy the creative plot twists. The film opens with a man strapped to a table above a pendulum. As the sharp blade begins swinging over his stomach, he has only a minute to stop it by inserting his hands into a device that will crush them. When the machine malfunctions, it's clear that it wasn't the work of the meticulous Jigsaw. Meanwhile, FBI Agent Strahm (Scott Patterson) continues the investigation he began in the previous film, only to wake up to find himself wearing a glass helmet filled with water. With a minimum of self-mutilation, he escapes and continues his investigation with the hunch that ...

| | Alice In Chains Black Gives Way To Blue CD (2009) Limited Edition; Digipak
Flyleaf
$14.09 Audio Mixer: Randy Staub . When Layne Staley died from a drug overdose in 2002, it had already been several years since most Alice in Chains fans stopped hoping for a new album. The singer had become a recluse since the late-`90s, and there was little indication that AIC would ever again produce much in the way of new music. As a result, when the remaining members reunited to release BLACK GIVES WAY TO BLUE in 2009, expectations were low. To the delight of all however, the album proved to be perhaps the Seattle combo's most energetic and consistent effort since its masterpiece DIRT. Perhaps the most surprising element of the new record was how much it sounded exactly like Alice in Chains. While new singer William DuVall was not an exact Staley soundalike, he managed to evoke both the unique timbre and sense of deep angst that were the late vocalist's trademarks. Throughout, the sound is heavier and sturdier than ever before, with songs like the first single "A Looking In View" and "Check My Brain" borrowing a bit from the nu-metal bands Alice in Chains inspired, and beating the upstarts at their own game. It's hard not to feel for Alice in ...

ABRE was nominated for the 2000 Latin Grammy Award for Best Rock Album and Best Engineered Album. ABRE was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album. Personnel: Fito Páez (vocals, piano, keyboards); Guillermo Vadala (guitar, banjo, keyboards); Gabriel Carámbula, Ulises Butrón, Ube Reyes, Lucho González (guitar); Néstor Marconi (bandoneon); Dave Mann , Tim Ries (alto saxophone); Andy Snitzer, RIck DePofi, Lawrence Feldman (tenor saxophone); Roger Rosenberg (baritone saxophone); Jeff Kievit, Tony Kadleck, Jim Hynes (trumpet); Michael Davis (tenor trombone); Herb Besson (bass trombone); Claudio Cardone (keyboards); Shawn Pelton (loops). Audio Mixer: Frank Filipetti. Recording information: Circo Beat Studios, Buenas Aire; Right Track Studios. Photographer: Gonzalo Sierra. Arranger: Fito Páez. After the failed duo with Joaquin Sabina and the acoustic album Euforia, Fito Páez returned with his first solo effort with new compositions in five years. It was intended to be a kind of return to form, with simpler songs, not as over produced as his material had become. But the result differs much from that fact. It's a sophisticated and lushly arranged pop album produced by Phil Ramone . In "La Casa Desaparecida" he sounds pretentious while he tries to explain Argentinean modern history in it's 11 minutes. Fito Páez is a great composer so it's no surprise that there are memorable moments like " Abre"." "Dos en la ciudad" seems to be the sour side of "El Amor Después del Amor." Apart from El Amor Después del Amor y Tercer Mundo, Abre Páez is the best album recorded by Páez in the '90s. ~ Iván Adaime Argentina's Fito Paez is one of the few pop-rockers in the Latin arena to ...
| | Dominology, Vol. 1 CD (2005)
Flyleaf
$10.15 So who is Dominology you ask? Well Dominology is one of the hottest groups coming out of the south. Based in Pasadena, Texas southeast of Houston, Dominology is blowing up from the local club scene, right to the streets of Houston and surrounding towns and cities. Forming in 2004, Dominology has already finished their first album and is almost done with their second album. Absolute, who had one album before Dominology, hooked up with J-Strong, O-Dawg, Big Mone, and Un-Dre. The beats and lyrics were there, but still something was missing. Knowing that they needed more to captivate the listeners, Dominology kept their finely tuned ears to the streets for potential vocalists. In doing so they bumped into K. Morgan and Icky. The circle was then complete and if you take the time to listen you will see for yourself. This is going to be one of the most talked about groups in a long while. 2005 is definitely the year ...
