Solace Clever Deception CD

Solace was formed in April 2005, by published poet and prodigy guitarist, Asa Paulovich, who was 18 at the time. This highly inventive hard rock band hailing from Beaver County has a different view on music than most. They want to put out a message of awareness, a message of think for yourself and most importantly open you eyes now or never; this comes from the bands religious backgrounds. (Asa Paulovich (lead guitar, lyrics, vocals) and Steve Husselton (drums, vocals) are both sons of preachers.) Not only are the lyrics thought provoking to the point of where you have to stop and go, “Wow, I never thought of that like that!” but their music is played and composed with a remarkable amount of thought, precision and talent. Singer Robert Birchler (vocals, lyrics) draws the audience in with his impressive range and his smooth, spiritual and hypnotic vocals, while Solace’s three guitarists Peter Birchler (lead guitar), Asa Paulovich and Eric Onuska (rhythm guitar) blaze through carpal tunnel inducing rifts that are literally gigantic and Steve Husselton pounds on his drums with an scientific precision not seen in most drummers and Nathan Brice (bass) sets the groove with his bass. Don’t think they are just another band pounding on strings and hollow tubs; they are based in classical music and every note and drum hit is there for a reason. Their soft side is quite remarkable too, seeing as they have influences in flamenco, classical and baroque. The type of versatility this band contains is quite remarkable they can go from rocking you sock off to playing a Jonny Cashesk south western Ballad. They will impress the best. Another interesting tid bit about Solace; within the band’s occupations is a carpenter, plumber, chiropractor, advertising executive, pilot and a retail store manager.
