Hi, I'm Jamie Gravelin. I call Vermont my home but would rather be living in Key West. This is my first CD release. You'll find many different genres on this compilation and I hope you will find them enjoyable. I had much help from friends and family over the past few years in encouraging me to stick with my music and get it recorded. Huge thanks to my brother Rick for his recording and mastering skills at www.rcsproaudio.com. My brother's Rick and Denis provided lot's of help with backup guitar and bass. Thanks bro's!I'm the youngest of 9 boys raised in the Burlington, VT area. Besides the solo work offered here I play with a few of my brothers in a Rock & Roll band called Triple Play. You can get more info on our live gigs in the Burlington area at www.mytripleplay.com.Here's a bit of info about each song."I'm just a fool". This song was inspired by that all too common boy meets girl and is played for a fool about love. We play the song "Mustang Sally" in our band and I also like the song "She caught the Katy" so the melody for this song is hybrid of these two great classics."Miss You" was written during the cold of winter when I was at home alone and thinking about how much I missed this certain very special and amazing woman. This song includes pedal steel guitar work from a very good and dear friend of mine, Jim Pitman. This is one of my favorite songs and it will always remind me of how wonderful life can be when someone absolutely amazing is in your life."Ticket to Your Heart" was just a fun blues song that came out of meolody that was stuck in my head and needed to be written down. And besides I always wanted to sing train whistle sounds....who wouldn't ;-) My brother Bob and his wife Cynthia helped with backup vocals."Sooner or Later" is a song about being with someone you no longer love and meeting another and knowing deep down that you were really meant to be with this other person."Dreamin'" is another song about a truly wonderful woman who, through her caring support, enabled me get out of an awful realtionship situation. When I'm feeling low and need a lift up I go back to that time and smile at how wonderful life can be sometimes."Right Through Me" was inspired by an infatuation that could never go anywhere but just the way this person looked at me I could tell she could see right through to my true soul."I Don't know". This was just a fun song that came from learning some great new progressions from Dave Diamond guitar god extroidinare. As I practiced my "homework" this song just kind of presented itself."Hey Jane". I wanted to right a kind of groovy hip song that someone like the Dave Grippo Funk Band and Jennifer Hartswick might like to play. I was hoping to get Jennifer to lay down some trumpet on this but getting together in the studio proved to be a bit too difficult. Jennifer if you are out there listening I would love to have you on a second release of this :) "Swing Tonight". What can I say. I wrote this song in 10 minutes and it is just a really fun song to play."Til ...
