Vapour Trails album for sale Product Description
Vapour Trails album for sale by Tuxedomoon was released Feb 12, 2008 on the Crammed Discs label. Together in various permutations since 1977, Tuxedomoon marked their 30th anniversary by releasing this challenging set of all-new material. Moody post-punk funk, with Kurt Wagnerian song-spiel vocals, pervades the album on tracks like "The Big Olive," "Muchos Colores," and "Still Small Voice." Spacious synth explorations unfold on "Kubrick" and "Epso Meth Lama," and the song "Wading Into Love" is four minutes of delicious, end-credit dub. Vapour Trails CD music contains a single disc with 8 songs. ...See Full Description

| Somebody needs to get their ears checked! I saw the other review of this CD and just had to respond. Although Tuxedomoon is a band that is certainly not to everyone's tastes (obviously, as they remain basically unknown to most even after 30+ years), one should at least recognize this fact and respond accordingly. I happen to think that they are among the top 10 bands in history, and not ALL of my favorites are so esoteric (although admittedly many are). And I happen to think this is one of Tuxedomoon's very best offerings - at least in more than 20 years. Plus, the other reviewer claims that their music is soul-destroying...as if that was a bad thing! Simply put, if you like unusual music that can put your mind in an altered state, and are a fan of such bands as Legendary Pink Dots, Wire, and even vintage Pink Floyd, then this is for you. However, if you prefer mundane pablum and cute little 3-minute nuggets of unoriginality and are deathly afraid of anything remotely challenging, then stick with the top-40 crud-du-jour. | Suicide City I bought the CD based on a five-star review in Record Collector magazine. The lesson is not to believe other reviewers, possibly including mine. I found this album the most soul destorying thing I have ever heard. Next to this album, the Spice Girls have talent!. It is a totally self-indulgent album with,to my mind, no redeeming features. The music is of dirge-like quality and the vocals are equally appalling, track one a possible exception. It gets one star because people obviously put effort into its creation, pity about that.
