9 all original, never before heard songs full of love, laughter, pleasure and pain will move you to tears and make you laugh all at once. 20 long years in the making, it has finally been completed. Everything came together in a daze during the month of July 2007 and the recording of the material was completed in 9 days. Most of the tracks were recorded in one take. We wanted the music to breath, to be alive and in true fashion to the blues form, we left it a little rough around the edges. But there is sure a lot of feeling in there. We hope that some of you will not be offended by our choice of words and subjects for our songs, but they have been inspired by our lives and lives of the people around us and God knows they ain't always pretty. Jamil was born in Liverpool, UK, home of the beatles and many other famous names and faces who have and continue to have a strong influence in the world of music even today. At the tender age of 3 he emigrated to Toronto, Canada with his family were he spent most of his early years growing up. After travelling through Canada he ended up living in the US, this is were he developed a passion for the arts, especially music. Music became a natural reflex to Jamil as his skills evolved and developed on various instruments everything from the piano to the horn and even the guitar, at this point he was playing different genres of music to develop his skills. Unfortunately at the age of 11 these skills were to be put on a backburner for a while as his living situation became more turbulent after a family split. This lead him to pursue other avenues and unfortunately layed his talents to bed for a short period of time, but not forever. After a number of years of living an unsettled nomadic lifestyle on the streets, Jamil rediscovered his passion for music. He was influenced by different musical genres and having come from a musical background, his uncle ralph having worked and shared a studio with BABYFACE and an other uncle TONY RILEY who was a drummer for the supremes, Jamil grew up on 70’s and 80’s soul music which influences him and many other people even today. Starting out with a few performances with some of his bretherans in Canada 'Peep Game’ he began performing alongside some big names as an opening and support act were he continued to further craft his skill.
