Stick It! music CDs
$13.75 For metalheads, the early to mid-2000s went down in history as a time in which the United States dominated metalcore, hardcore, and screamo while Europe dominated the death metal/black metal field as well as the power metal revival/progressive metal scene. And Europe was equally dominant when it came to goth metal; if, in the early to mid-2000s, one came across a metal band that had strong goth leanings, a definite Lacuna Coil influence, and a female lead singer with an ethereal vocal style, it wasn't necessarily a European band but was likely a European band. Germany's Eyes of Eden, in fact, fit that description to a T on their debut ...

| | Causey Way Causey vs. Everything CD (2001)
Stick It! CD music
$8.39 This is a peculiar listen. One gets the distinct feeling that there is a message being advanced here, but it's nebulous at best. Is Causey Way a cult, or do they simply borrow the trappings of computer-age coltishness and stitch them into their new wave-ish rock quilt. Though certainly not the first indie rock band to do that, Causey Way adds a few flourishes, and a different flavor icing to that cake. Artsy cultishness ...
| | Quarteto Nuevo El Musico CD (2001)
Stick It! music CDs
$15.95 Quarteto Nuevo combine the rhythmic traditions and sophistication of the Near, Middle and Far East with the harmonic richness of the West, with lyrical melodies from both to make a truly unique music. The group, which features Ken Rosser on guitar, Al Garcia on bass, Christopher Garcia and Randy Gloss on percussion, and Alan Lechusza on oboe and saxophone, is fluid with diverse forms and substance from various traditions - yet not bound by any. Their compositions and improvisations feature superimposed metric modulations, electric sitar solos, bass solos and any number of percussion solos to stimulate the listener and awaken that which is already within.__"The CD cover art depicts a well-dressed Latin man sitting on a stool with an acoustic guitar in his hand, looking at sheet music. Imagery of a softly performed Spanish serenade comes to mind. However, reality dictates that the band's overall scope and manner of execution is quite a bit more - all encompassing. What this quintet effectively does, is to merge Andean folk, North Indian classical, Latin and jazz with an organic feel that also packs a wallop! They're really a quintet, yet their moniker has a certain, romantic tinge to it. A primary point of interest resides within the group's quasi world-beat/jazz ...

| | Brian Chahley This Way CD (2007)
Stick It! CD music
$11.49 “This Way” is the newest album from young up-and-coming trumpeter Brian Chahley (20) from Toronto, Canada. After spending two years as a fellow at the prestigious Brubeck Institute (www.brubeckinstitute.org) in California playing alongside some of the world’s finest young talent and studying under some of the biggest names in jazz, Brian brought a mix of other Brubeck Fellows (past and present) to Toronto in January of 2007 to record this album.Featured on the album alongside Brian are Lucas Pino on tenor sax, Glenn Zaleski on piano, Chris Smith on bass and Colin Stranahan on drums. Colin has just begun a two year fellowship at the Monk Institute in New Orleans, while Lucas and Glenn recently continued their education at the New School in New York City. Chris is still at the Brubeck Institute, while Brian (a graduate of the fellowship program) is continuing to perform with the Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet while also holding an administrative position at the Institute. The songs on this album are all original compositions by members of the band, which was formed in the summer of 2006 around a European tour and continues to perform all over the continent. These are some of the hottest young talents in jazz – at the time of the recording, not one member of the band was over the age of twenty! Brian started playing trumpet at the age of 12, and took up jazz soon after. Since then he has studied and performed with Dave Brubeck, Christian McBride, Freddie Hubbard, Lewis Nash, Benny Golson, Nicholas Payton, ...
