| | Clearland Gift From Time CD - Import Clearland Discography of CDs
How often do you hear about numetal from Ukraine,singer/songwriters from Korea, progressive rock from Kenya or AOR from Bulgaria?!,well I don?t know about the others but Clearland really do play AOR and comes from Bulgaria! It?s a duo consisting of Nikolay Raikov-Vocals and Konstantin Jambazov-Guitars,Bass,Keyboards and Vocals, formed in 2000 in Varna, Bulgaria-they started writing songs in the AOR vein in the same vein as their favorite bands Asia, Kansas, Yes, Toto, Foreigner, Chicago etc and in 2003 they were signed to UBP International and recorded this debut album.First of all I must say that the album cover reminds a lot of Styx classic art cover "Pieces of eight" with the famous men in stones standing on the Easter island, then the music which is really early 80?s based AOR like a light weight version of Asia. These boys got great ideas like the the opening track "Feel the world","The way to love you more" (best song on the album) and the instrumental cover of Queen?s masterpiece "Bohemian Rhapsody" (an odd but cool version),but "Keep spirits high" echoes out Eurovision song contest a long way......and the fusion/west coast syrup dripping "Love and tenderness" and "I will fly" don't belong here at all.I think they should consider a more straight ahead AOR-ish style over the whole album next time and with a larger production,Clearland could be a band to reckon with. Gift From Time album
$11.18 It's no secret that John Mayer is a 21st Century Fox, wining and dining women all through tabloid headlines, so it's about time he delivered an album that traded upon his loverman persona -- and Battle Studies is that record in spades. Retaining more than a modicum of the slick, soul-blues undertones of Continuum, Mayer fashions a modern groove album, a record that maintains a smooth seductive vibe so thoroughly it spills into a one-man band cover of "Crossroads." Mayer remains somewhat of a disciple of Slowhand, but he shows an unusual interest in the big AOR stylings of Journeyman, along with Stevie Ray Vaughan's In Step, creating a coolly clean blend of synths and Strats, one that's as much about texture as it is about song.something perfectly appropriate ...
| | Tom Petty Live Anthology CDs (2009)
Gift From Time CD music
$19.34 It's a commonly held opinion among fans and band alike that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' lone live album, 1986's Pack Up the Plantation, didn't quite capture the group at its peak, so there has been a long-standing need for another live set, which 2009's Live Anthology finally provides. Like its closest cousin, Bruce Springsteen's Live 1975-1985, Live Anthology almost overcompensates for the long wait by offering almost too much music, cherrypicking ...

| | Adam Stahlberg Caught In Between CD (2007)
Gift From Time album
$6.69 Who is Adam Stahlberg?Iâm 22 year old singer/songwriter hailing from the best Midwest City, Chicago. Personally Chicago is the best city! How do you go about writing your songs?Well I always keep a little book next to me just in case I think of something. Iâll jot it down and leave it for awhile. Eventually Iâll come back to it with notes or chords from my guitar. If I donât have that book I usually find something such as a paper plate or napkin..something like that. Itâs weird too because âCaught in Betweenâ and âSuburban Lifeâ took me about 10 minutes to write. I wish I had that power for every song. What are your songs about? To me the songs are about personal feelings. Very personal like someone would be telling their psyche or counselor or something. Feelings such as alcohol, relationships, sometimes even things that could happen in the future. Other than that just listen and see what you make of them. Why call your self by your own name? Why not call your self something different?Calling myself by my given name was easiest to me. Plus the band is Adam Stahlberg, just me. A dear friend Jameson Zaerr helps fill in for my second guitar parts at most shows. When I first started getting things going the name was âThe Haladaysâ which was named after the street my parents live on. I have thought over and over to this day about calling myself Adam Paul, but something Adam Stahlberg seems better to me.How long have you been playing music?I have been playing guitar for almost 2 years now (long story), and coming up on a year with piano. I sort of fell into the guitar one weekend when I was visiting my grandma. Her friend had a bunch of guitars in her basement and I picked it up and learned Modest Mouseâs âBankrupt on Selling,â from there I knew I wanted to play. I am always interested in learning new instruments because it is better to broaden your music horizon plus it makes the music more interesting. If anyone meets me then I will tell the longer version of the guitar story. Why did you start playing this type of music? This one is tough. I really did not know what type of music I wanted to play. I just wanted to play. But about a year ago I found a Matt Marque album âNothing Personalâ and fell in love with it. After that he became a huge inspiration to my music. The weird thing is, I actually met him and became friends with him. He is an amazing person, very down-to-earth. He has helped me with my music by giving me pointers on what works best. Also, ...

She started singing before she could talk properly and she sang while walking around the house, carrying her songbook with her. Sara did not yet read music but she recognized the pictures and could thereby pick the right melodies to sing.
