| | Shane Douglas Ta'Blooze CD Shane Douglas Discography of CDs
Shane DouglasTa'bloozeFor a few years now I have been singing a funny little song called Mr. Squirty. Everyone always asks if it is on a CD. Well....... yes it is. I have been doing some stand-up comedy at open mikes for a new challenge. Some of the jokes have made there way in to the Money Makers shows. This inspired me to write some more fun comedy songs. I had a ball doing this CD is was fun to be doing something new and different. What started out as demos became Ta'blooze. I cut it over a six month period in my spare time. I don't mean to offend, just making a joke. If you like clever and not so clever dirty humor I think you will dig Ta'blooze. My favorite? My theme song "I Don't Wanna Quit Drinkin'. Shane Douglas is many things. Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter/Comedian/all around Entertainer. Shane has been performing in Nashville, Tn for almost 15 years. At 17 he moved to Music City from Martinsburg Wv. Since then he has honed his musical skill and learned to work a crowd like no other. Shane will have you dancing, singing and laughing along as he gets to the core of the audience with his intuition and skill. It has been said, but never proven, that Shane knows every song. Although no one could know every song, Shane does know alot of them. If he doesn't know yours he can get close. How to describe Shane Douglas? He can interact with the crowd and get the party going. Or he can get funky and have you dancing all night long. He can go into a stand-up bit and get you laughing. Then play the dirtiest blues you ever heard. He is one mean guitar slinger and he knows every classic barroom song. He is all that and more. Whether it's 10 people or 10,000 they will have a good time and most likely stay for one more drink then they planned. He has works nearly every night in Music City U.S.A. From the big venue to the small Shane can please the crowd. So why haven't you heard of him?Well Shane is hard to categorize. Shane defies definition. So no-one quite knows what to do with him. But Shane knows what to do. Keep on playing good music, take time to identify with the crowd, and make it a party. Everyone has fun at a Shane Douglas and the Money Makers show. | | Roc, Karen Gibson & Fluid Live @ The Whitney Museum CD (2006)
Ta'Blooze album
$10.25 Karen Gibson Roc is an astonishment. This Brooklyn-based (by way of Jamaica and Canada) poet and musician is fierce and fearless. A musical chameleon (she calls herself a "poetist" or poetic vocalist), she combines elements of rap, downtown-diva poetry slamming, and an urgent backing band called Fluid that lays down beats for her that range from jazzy to soulful to the rock edge that the hip-hop pioneers used to such great advantage. Karen Gibson Roc is so committed to what she is doing, she even dreams in rhyme!Styling herself a poetist, the performer celebrates the creative spirit in front of her empathetic band, Fluid. She is absolutely weightless, soaring and floating above the checks and balances that keep most of us secured to the weighty surface of this rolling ball we find ourselves assigned to. She is unafraid, not worried about her looks, not needing fame, and in the memorable words of one of her songs not even needing to be sane, all of the time. She has been compared to Gil Scott-Heron, a declaiming pioneer of the 1960s ("The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," "Johannesburg") and I can see a similarity, although she is not political, as Scott-Heron was. She is a sloganeer as he was, but in a more personal mode. I see her more as a poet/musician in the mode of the greatest of all New York City divas, Patti Smith, following her creative itchiness wherever it may lead her. It's all about the creative spirit for Gibson Roc. In her rhymes, whether gotten on the night shift or during the day like most poets, she ...

| | Anchored In Love: A Tribute To June Carter Cash CD (2007)
Ta'Blooze music CDs
$14.05 Because she rarely recorded under her own name, a tribute to the late June Carter Cash by default also stands as a tribute to her genealogy: several of the songs among the dozen here were recorded by June with her late husband, Johnny Cash, or by country music's legendary Carter Family, from which June sprang. In addition, the album was produced by John Carter Cash, the only child of Johnny and June, and there are tracks by Carlene Carter, June's daughter from her first marriage (to Carl Smith), and Rosanne Cash, Johnny Cash's daughter with his first wife. As producer, John Carter Cash largely plays it predictable. There are few surprises and no truly offbeat rearrangements or radical interpretations. Folks who enjoyed the singing of June Carter Cash will likely be quite satisfied with these loving, faithful covers. And they should be, because virtually all of the performances are flawless, honest, and inspired. Two duets lead things off: Sheryl Crow and duet king Willie Nelson give a spirited, if somewhat rote, reading to "If I Were a Carpenter," the Tim Hardin-penned classic, and Carlene Carter and Ronnie Dunn hoot it up on "Jackson," the Nancy Sinatra-Lee Hazlewood hit -- both songs were longtime staples of Johnny and June's shows together. A handful of top-shelf country artists, among them Loretta Lynn (a tender "Wildwood Flower"), Brad Paisley (a straightforward, beautifully sung "Keep on the Sunny Side"), and bluegrass hero Ralph Stanley ("Will the Circle Be Unbroken," what else?), pay their respects with kind treatments, ...

Ta'Blooze CD music
$16.45 Music has always held a special place in Ken's life. His first instrument was a pair of bongos that he played until his parents bought him a set of drums. He actually did his first drum solo in his church at the age of five! While the drums were fun to play, he discovered that playing the piano was much more rewarding. He started composing songs on the piano during his early teens and he hasn't stopped since. Through the years, ...
