Electric Light Orchestra New World Record - Expanded Edition CD (1976) Top Seller
10 Year Story buy CD music Also available in a 3-pack with FACE THE MUSIC and DISCOVERY.
1976's A NEW WORLD RECORD is both a classic of commercial '70s pop and an archetypal ELO album. From the outer-space synths and rich orchestrations that open the album to Jeff Lynne's meticulous production and Beatlesque melodies, A NEW WORLD RECORD is magnificent ear candy. Both ambitious enough to appeal to "serious" rock fans and ultra-catchy enough to sound terrific on Top 40 radio (the plaintively gorgeous, McCartney-like "Telephone Line" and the anthemic "Livin' Thing" were well-deserved smashes), ELO was one of the few '70s bands whose appeal covered both the FM and AM spectrums. The album even resurrects "Do Ya," a classic single by Lynne's former band, the Move, in a splashy new version.
The next ELO album, 1977's elaborate double-album OUT OF THIS WORLD, was probably the band's commercial high point, but A NEW WORLD RECORD is the group's artistic high-water mark.
Their #5 smash from '76 gave ELO its first platinum record, and it's probably their most consistent creation. The hits Livin' Thing; Do Ya , and Telephone Line join Rockaria; Tight Rope ; a full six bonus cuts and more!

Lcd Soundsystem 45:33 CD (2006) Top Seller
10 Year Story songs LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy was commissioned by Nike to write 45:33:00 as a piece of exercise music for part of their Original Run series. Murphy composed the track as a continuous piece tailored to the length and variation of a standard workout. In addition to its novelty as a concept, 45:33:00 is a brilliantly arranged and compulsively listenable track spilling over with the burbling, kinetic energy and gleaming production flourishes typical of LCD Soundsystem's work. Originally available only as an iTunes exclusive, the track was released on CD in late 2007. Complex, fun, and meticulously put together, 45:33:00 sounds even better pumping from a home stereo than it does through an iPod while jogging. Three bonus tracks, previously unavailable in the U.S., round out the package, and make it a must for LCD Soundsystem fans.
Additional Tracks
Personnel: James Murphy (vocals, electric guitar, Clavinet, synthesizer, Moog synthesizer, vocoder, bass guitar, drums, hand claps, percussion, sampler, background vocals); Terra Deva, Nancy Whang (vocals); Alex Frankel (Wurlitzer organ); Eric Broucek (synthesizer, sampler).

Black Light CD (2010)
10 Year Story album for sale Twelve years and six full-lengths into their career, Groove Armada have produced their dark album, a record that translates the dense, frenzied sound of Anglo-American dance-pop of the 2000s into the context of the duo's highly stylized productions. There's a clear focus to the record, too, virtually all of it centered on mainstream dance of the '80s hi-NRG synth pop variety, including nods to Bronski Beat, Soft Cell, and Human League. Although there aren't as many varied guest-star vocal features as in the past, Roxy Music's Bryan Ferry and Pop Idol Will Young are taken along, and a young female vocalist named SaintSaviour makes her debut. Aside from the stars, her contributions form the bulk of the record -- "I Won't Kneel" sounds reminiscent of Goldfrapp gone hi-NRG, and she shines on "Paper Romance," a clear winner for a single with its pinging synths recalling the heady days of "Smalltown Boy." ~ John Bush
