Gilberto Santa Rosa Contrastes Songs Contrastes Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) El Caballero is Back!!! Finally an albun from el caballero that has "GOLPE" and lirics. This was lacking for a while.. in fact in his previous 2 or 3 albums.
Recommended.. the pop balads are also great, although I'm not really a balads guy. But yes.... this should be in your collection. Submitted by Hugo Osorio (Princeton, NJ) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Contrastes
$10.15 Puerto Rican singer Gilberto Santa Rosa has enjoyed massive success throughout Latin America and beyond for his particular brand of salsa. Santa Rosa is also a master ballad stylist, an area that gets plenty of attention on 2006's DIRECTO AL CORAZON. There are a few key uptempo tracks here, but those looking for a sustained batch of high-energy salsa may be disappointed. Nevertheless, Santa Rosa's rich, expressive voice is in fine form throughout this 10-song set.

| | Andy Montanez Salsa Con Reggaeton CD (2006)
Contrastes
$8.45 This longtime salsa favorite -- with the help of a little reinvention -- tops the charts once again with his 2006 record, Salsa con Reggaetón. In an effort to synthesize the old and the new, the classic and the fresh, the Univision label employed the talents of top Latin music producers Ramon B. Sanchez and Sergio George, both of whom need only touch a project for it to turn to gold. Montañez, a veteran of the world famous El Gran Combo, a crown in the Puerto Rican salsa crown, collaborated with some of the island's new breed of recording stars. Reggaeton artists like Daddy Yankee, Cheka, and Voltio are just a few who lend their flow to Montañez's new sound, which he calls "salsatón." The tunes are fun and danceable, a great mixture of thick, live sounds and the block-rockin' sound of the drum machines that give reggaeton its steely spine. Though bringing together a well-seasoned, gray-haired salsa vocalist with raw, contemporary talent may seem like a gamble, it seems to have paid off. Salsa con Reggaetón rose to the Top Five of more than one of Billboard's Latin Music charts. Andy Montañez sounds as strong and artful as he ever did. This is one for the books. ~ Evan C. Gutierrez

Contrastes
$14.79 From breezy numbers to low down, dirty rock - punky energy goes hand in hand with big sounds and bucketsful of atmosphere. And you know what? It works a treat... we're in for great pop music, crispy guitars and nice beats. And what's even better, no one can say that they sound exactly like so and so... Belcafé are an indie band who have caused quite a stir with their second album "Primadonna". The band are a sassy Swiss gal on vocals and three English guys who somehow ended up in Zurich, Switzerland (that's another story...), decided to do a few gigs together and never looked back. Now this music has got to be different because this bunch don't care about trends and love to experiment with various music styles! It makes a refreshing change, the songs are quite unique in the way they're put together; repeat listening is strongly recommended! The group were awarded band of the month honours by the biggest ...
| | Rebecca Angel Fantasy Escape CD (2006)
Contrastes
$11.49 While writing a fantasy novel, Rebecca Angel decided to put in a band made up of mythical creatures called 'Camelot's Destruction'. Wondering what kind of music this band would write, she started composing songs, realized she was on a gold mine of inspiration, and hasn't stopped on the strange and fantastical journey of covering a band that only exists within the fantasy realms of her mind. Though that only explains a portion of the vast catalogue of songs written by Rebecca Angel ...

$13.89 Jeff Caudill (ex-Gameface) & David Stoll come to you from two separate continents and time zones, meeting only in cyberspace to create memorable electro-pop songs. David Stoll (known for his solo material as THE BEEP), a pixel pushing beatsmith from Germany saw singer/songwriter Jeff Caudill in Solingen, Germany while Jeff was on a solo tour in the winter of ‘06. Stoll was a longtime fan of Caudill’s previous band, GAMEFACE (seminal ‘90s indie pop-punk). David emailed Jeff and talked about possibly collaborating some day. Hundreds of e-mails and uploads later, the duo now known as FLOORMODEL was born. Although it’s primarily made with laptops and electronic devices, FLOORMODEL has a heart ...
