| | Graham Timbrell Gentle Waves CD Graham Timbrell Discography of CDs
ABOUT THE ARTISTGraham Timbrell is part of the "wave" of UK east coast Electronica composers, who include pioneering Brian Eno. But,Timbrell,self-taught,never set out to be part of any musical movement. He fell in love with the sound of the synth-and worked long hours to create a distinctive sound in the booming New Age genre.MUSIC QUOTESThe whole point of Graham Timrell's music is to cast our minds away from the world's stress and strife, cultivate the surreal, "bliss out" our senses and transport us towards a place of mystic encapsulation.......cheesy? maybe, but true."Gentle Waves" delivers, as we find ourselves drifting through the ethereal plane, not a care in the world, track after track.- AMAdea Records, BULGARIA Gentle Waves Music | Category | New Age Albums | | Label | CD Baby | | CD Universe Part number | 7537711 | | Catalog number | 152440 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Oct 02, 2007 |

| | Package Wartorn CD (2003)
Gentle Waves
$8.79 Born out of a desire to make music so heavy that it could not be denied, PACKAGE unleashed their assault on the Atlanta music scene in 1998. "Most of us had been in bands before, but this was different," says guitarist Anthony Pilgrim. "The reaction we got from our first show was so intense...we knew we had something here."PACKAGE's sound is based on a menacing combination of thick, groove-laden riffs, creatively pummeling hardcore and tribal beats, and vocals that can best be described as abrasive. Their relentless ...
| | Kristin Plater 24 CD (2001)
Gentle Waves
$15.19 On a Sunday morning, when you have the day off, and the football game is not on yet, you need a brunching CD. Something to get you to think about getting up. Maybe not a CD that kicks your ass out of bed, but not one that puts you back to sleep. Kristin Plater to the rescue! 24 is Plater's newest platter, and it is one of the best I have heard this year. Here is another idea. If you're a guy and you have that special person in your life over to spend the night, set your alarm to go off right when the sun comes up (assuming you've finished doing your thing by then), and have it play this CD. There is no better way to start the day. With the first track, "Dancing Stars," and all the others, you'll lie in bed together, cuddling, thinking about how you're both hungry, there is nothing in the refrigerator, but it doesn't matter anyway, because you're going to just lie there and glow with 24. "Wonder Woman" has meaningful lyrics that deserve to be heard. I found it hard to get any work done while listening to this CD because the lyrics are too captivating. It is much easier to not pay attention to music when the singer keeps saying, "It's getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes." Plater is too talented to ignore.Another good track with good songwriting is "Big Al." This song is definitely a drop-everything-and-listen track. If you close your eyes, you can almost see the story unfold before your eyes. Plater is a fantastic artist who deserves your attention. And if you act now, you get the track "Kristin Wants to Play," which is her singing at a much younger age. So adorable. Makes me want to buy Girl Scout Cookies and sell them on eBay. - Agouti.comBIO:Long before Sheryl Crow, Beth Hart or Fiona Apple hit the musical landscape, singing, guitar-slinging Kristin Plater was providing soulful entertainment to her kindergarten classmates. It was 1982, the year Plater traded in her cheerleading pom poms for music. With years of local theater and talent shows under her belt, she eventually earned a gig as the national anthem singer for the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena.Tired of singing along to karaoke tapes, Plater picked up the guitar at age 19 and started writing songs that remain in your head for days.In 1999 she was a finalist for the coveted Lilith Fair showcase in Detroit and the first place winner of the Michigan State University Talent Contest. In 2001, she was a finalist in the Pantene Pro-Voice contest and her debut cd, Dreaming in Pink, was # 3 on WMFO Boston's Living in America top 10 list.Since moving from Detroit to Boston, Plater has been making impressive strides. With a growing fan base she is gaining prominence and earning attention within the music scene. This will come as no surprise once you see her perform. At every rough bar, quiet coffee house and trendy club in between, she treats her audience to a character which is both introspective and phosphorescent.A strong stage presence and commanding voice quickly elevate her above not only the pandemonium of a packed ...
