From the time that Lance Lange and Steve Handel picked up their guitars and learned how to play and write, they individually had a vision of what heavy metal should be. Thus began the quest for making their vision a reality. After several years of playing in numerous groups and cutting their teeth on club gigs, each in their own projects, the pair met in 1989 in Sioux Falls, SD through a guitar player ad that Lance had posted in a music store. In the early years of the new millennium, they decided to build what is now the heavy metal band Seventh Calling. 'Among our influences are Judas Priest, Fifth Angel, Metal Church, Iron Maiden, Dio and No exit-era Fates Warning', say Handel and Lange. 'The main reason for that, besides the singing, is the two-guitar attack of these bands, Dio being the exception'. Seventh Calling is a dark, brooding metal machine that embodies the Lange/Handel vision of heavy music with melody - with musicians not only apt in the studio, but in a high-energy live situation as well. Having shared the stage with acts such as Overkill, Blind Guardian and Metal Church - to name a few - Seventh Calling is ready to conquer and blaze a trail of their own.
