"I am Hercules," Rubin's 2nd professionally produced CD, is scheduled for release late June 2004 (JJB Music). JJB Music was founded late summer of 2002 by Rubin, his brother/executive producer Douglas, and friend/producer Stephen R. Duhart. Duhart brought together a selection of some of today's most impressive studio musicians to complete the "I am Hercules" sound. In addition to the members of The Steve Rubin Band, Duhart added the talents of drummers Vinnie Colaiuta and Mark Lomax, bassist and sound engineer Arthur Barrows, keyboardist Hollywood, saxophonist Ronnie Crumbly, and background vocals by Judith Walton. Born in Syracuse, New York, Rubin was raised in Los Angeles since the age of one. With four brothers and one sister in his immediate family, young Rubin didn't have far to look for entertainment. After picking up his brother's discarded guitar, Rubin seemed to have found his place in the world and with self-driven determination, he never looked back. Rubin studied guitar and piano informally and spent hours at a time listening to his favorite group, the Allman Brothers Band. Rubin said, "the first time I heard Duane Allman play slide guitar, I felt moved forever to continue on my guitar playing path." But Rubin's greatest thrill was not limited to guitar performance alone. As an adolescent, he worte his first song. Moved by the emotions he felt for the first girl he ever had a crush on, Rubin wrote "Blonde Haired Girl." Ever since that first song, he found writing songs made his pulse race. He said, "I can't wait to finish one so that I can start another. Creating a song out of nothing is the greatest thrill; finishing one is a total rush."Rubin's college years were spent at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he managed to drag his guitar around with him everywhere he went. 4us is a three member band hailing from Kobe/Osaka JAPAN. the members have performed with a host of international stars such as Janet Jackson, Shanice, Whitney Houston, The Temptations, Kuraki Mai, Monta Yoshinori and many others.4us actually started on January 20,1995. It was on this day that two members of the popular band "Kobe Posse" began planning to make music. After the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995(Kobe, JAPAN), the members of Kobe Posse was scattered abroad in search of work. While two members of the four-man group moved to other cities, Freddie Please Snedecor and Ricky Cosmo Francis remained in the torn city. Determined not to let the quake hinder the popularity of the name, Freddie and Cosmo continued as a duo (under the name Kobe Posse) for about 6 months. Later on, long-time Kobe Posse sideman Donald Moore joined the duo and the three of them continued playing around the Kobe/greater Osaka area.
