She has also led many church folk groups consisting of children and adults, and helped start the Rock and Rejoice group (with her boys on percussion) for the children's program at Princeton Alliance Church, in Plainsboro NJ.For the last 6 years Laurie has been an assistant teacher at a preschool in Cranbury, NJ, singing with the children everyday and coming up with ideas for this (and at least the next) CD. These are the songs that were the most loved and requested, as well as a few new ones written just for this project. Laurie wrote all the songs, and played all the instruments on this project.The CD was recorded, produced, and the graphics designed by her husband Kevin. Kevin has worked on live sound reinforcement throughout the NYC area, as well as engineered and produced many other projects since the late 1970's. Duberney Ruiz (compositor y cantante cristiano)Naci el 4 de julio de 1975, en la ciudad de sincelejo colombia , junto a mi familia mis padres y mis dos hermanos viviamos siempre en gran armonia y congregandonos en la iglesia local, ya que tube la oportunidad de nacer en un hogar cristiano, mi padre solia viajar mucho por su trabajo, orabamos mucho por el junto a mi madre. un dia 23 de diciembre de 1989 como a las 3:30 pm cuando yo salia de una reunion de jovenes de mi iglesia ,cante como nunca antes , ore con alegria ya que el año terminaba y le pedia a Dios que bendijera mi casa y mi familia, 4:00 pm la policia de carreteras trajo con ellos la peor noticia de mi vida , que mi padre habia muerto instantaneamente en el auto que lo traeria a casa despues de 6 meses de ausencia, me desplome en el piso y dije esto es un sueño , no entendia nada solo callaba y sali de mi casa y mire hacia el cielo y dije quien eres tu Dios. el 24 de diciembre 1989 a las 5:00 pm estoy en el cementerio dandole el ultimo adios a mi padre. tiempo despues viajo a estados unidos con mi madre , tratando de pasar este trago amargo pero fue imposible esos dias orar, leer la palabra de Dios, y peror aun seguir confiando en el. en new york , usa vivia junto a mi madre en un solo cuarto y con el dolor de la perdida de mi padre y el recuerdo de todos los de mi tierra, sin saber el idioma y con los largos dias de frio, y sin amigos , me ofrecieron un trabajo , el cual no era de mi agrado ya que siempre vivia con un orgullo barato el cual me impidia llegar a ver mas alla de mi nariz. este trabajo fue limpiar los baños de un edificio de mas de 10 pisos ,yo era responsable por 8 de ellos , todos los dias de 6 am a 5 pm estaba en las limpiesas. un dia jueves como alas 10 am entro un hombre empresario de este edificio al baño el cual yo limpiaba todos los dias, y lo mire y le vi llorando y me acerque y le dije JESUS TE AMA Y TIENE UN PROPOSITO CON TU VIDA el mirandome fijamente me dijo NADIE DE TU ALTURA NUNCA ME HABIA DICHO ALGO HACI , y me agradecio diciendo SABIA QUE JESUS ERA MI UNICA SALIDA de la manera que este hombre me agradecio fue pagando mis estudios de ingles en la universidad de union university en new jersey. pude entender esa tarde que aunque no queria escuchar a Dios , su amor por mi y su proposito eran mucho mas grandes que mi dolor temporal y que el me hablaria de la manera y el dia menos esperado. camino a casa me fui llorando en el bus, y mirando la grandeza de nuestro Dios y como el ocupo el puesto de mi padre ese 23 de diciembre y el que nunca me dejo . despues de mas de 8 años regrese a mi pais natal colombia y pasando por el lugar donde mi padre muere ese 23 de diciembre, le pedi al conductor del taxi que se detubiera por unos minutos, me ...
