Since the age of nine, Ed Blasco had been involved in music beginning when his father brought home an accordion. Ed studied accordion through college, was in many competitions, and in 1966 won Missouri State Champion. Always interested in electronic instruments, fueled by his father who bought an all electronic called "Electra Vox." Sounding more like an organ, this instrument looked and played like an accordion. Beginning a career in the retail piano and organ business, this musician found he must learn to play them and played his first organ concert in 1972 for the Kansas City Baldwin Organ Club. Since that time, he had played at least one or two concerts a year in the Kansas City area developing quite a following. In the retail side of the business, Ed has been in sales, management, teaching, and has been an owner. First, as a concert artist traveling the United States, in 1985, Ed joined a large Japanese instrument company starting out as a concert artist traveling the country and later promoted to an executive position heading up a team to develop an adult teaching program ultimately bringing over 50,000 adults into music. In 1995, Ed gave up life on the road and started teaching a couple of classes at Vaccaro's Piano & Organ in Kansas City. His passion for music created in him a desire for everyone who owns an organ to be able to play and operate the fine instrument in a manner they can be proud of and which is accordingly a proper way of caring for the instrument.
