Paradise In Flesh & Blood album
$11.19 Often, supergroups wind up dominated by one particular personality - think Eric Clapton in Derek & the Dominos, Jack White in the Raconteurs -- which makes the egalitarianism of Them Crooked Vultures all the more remarkable. Of course, when it comes down to it, it's a group of three natural-born collaborators: ...

| | Country Teasers Secret Weapon Revealed At Last A.K.A. Full Moon Empty Sports Bag CD (2003)
Paradise In Flesh & Blood songs
$11.59 The majority of four-track recordings are merely chronicles of personal achievement filled with unfinished ideas, inside jokes, and masturbatory instrumentals intended for late-night listening with drunken friends. At some bleary point in the evening, the conversation inevitably turns to world domination through the eventual release of the material on a major label, resulting in a morning of humiliation and regret at the thought of having exposed your coveted audio diary to a room full of strangers. The Country Teasers don't care either way. Their trashy middle finger of a record, Secret Weapon Revealed at Last is, depending on your mood, funny, satirical, and offensive in a King Missile kind of way, or foul, irritating, and sh*tty like a mid-summer bronchial infection. Like fellow Brit Mark E. Smith, frontman B.R. Wallers slurs and kind of sings on coyly titled songs such as "Young Mums Up for Sex" and "Man V Cock" like a man being solicited during a smoke break. This disaffected air works on lines like "I just wanna set ...

Paradise In Flesh & Blood music CDs
$11.39 This 1996 CD represents Tom's first recordings in Nashville (which he was subsequently to make his home for several years), and his most international effort to date: besides Nashville, tracks were recorded in London, Berlin, and Mecklinburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It features a number of straight-ahead rockers ("Gambled on your Love," "Below the Surface"), as well as one of Tom's very best ballads, "Somebody Else."----------------Singer-songwriter Tom Cunningham divides his time between Nashville and Europe. He grew up in Massachussetts, but has lived in Berlin, Germany, since the 70's, with a list of solid achievements there to his credit: ...
| | Vintage Stone Thoughts Of A Dreamer CD (2005)
Paradise In Flesh & Blood songs
$6.69 "Vintage Stone are obviously very creative and imaginative musicians who are able to experiment with their sounds and rhythm patterns will stunning results." - Rebecca Williams (Head of A&R) of Chromium Records, which featured Vintage Stone on a 2004 Compilation Album. This quote is true of our sound every since our conception into the rock world as a band. We were formed in late 2003 and begin playing many shows. Vintage Stone finally released their highly anticipated self-debut album in 2004. After a year of touring that album, the band finally found the sound they were looking for. In that time the band started work on their second record, Thoughts of a Dreamer. | | Larch Prizes From The Groove Arcade CD (2005)
Paradise In Flesh & Blood CD music
$9.35 "Prizes from the Groove Arcade by the Larch is brilliant British guitar pop...it's simply killer. Take pleasure"-Dave Tallent, Radio Free Colorado"Prizes From The Groove Arcade is an extremely danceable slice of Britpop-influenced rock 'n' roll." "The Larch (prove) that pop and disenchanted lyrics can co-exist."-splendid reviews"With enough nods to XTC, Martin Newell, Blur and Soft Boys to keep most Anglophiles pleased, The Larch does do enough for that second listen."-Nighttimes.com"Something of a concept album from these cheeky Brooklyn pub rock/punk rock/new wave revisionists. Frontman/guitarist Ian Roure's wry lyricism, frequently spectacular, supersonic fretwork and knack for a pop hook give these songs an authentically energetic, late 70s/early 80s feel. The album is a loosely thematic collection of songs about the ups and downs (mostly downs) of playing music. The cd opens with the thematically unconnected Goodbye Henry Hightower, a bouncy tribute to a beer league ballplayer (perhaps an inside joke). The cd's second cut, Androids follows in a similar vein, a wry anti-trendoid diatribe. Sweatshop is pure punk rock, a politically-stoked, minute-thirty second gem. Logical Enough is a riff-rocker that builds to a gorgeous, harmony-driven chorus, with plenty of cynicism about making it in the music business. With its Costelloesque vocals,I Can't Live without You sounds like an outtake from My Aim Is True. Welcome to the Show has an early 80s new wave ! pop feel. Lennon is an unabashed homage to the man, bluesy like one of the more roughhewn tracks on Imagine or Mind Games. Celebrity Gawker pokes playful fun at starfuckers whose idea of validation is spotting some semi-known rocker in a Ludlow Street bar. The album closes with It Could've Been Gerald, a rueful, only slightly tongue-in-cheek account of a now-forgotten rocker whose 15 minutes never really arrived. Roure's laugh-out-loud yet musically brilliant wah-wah guitar solo puts a fitting coda on the cd. The album's production is period-perfect: rhythm section in the back where it should be, guitars and vocals up front, just like the great vinyl albums they emulate. Fans of 90s Britrock like Blur and 70s pub rock like the Motors, as well as Joe Jackson and Graham Parker's first couple of albums should check this out. Fans of Deaf School, the second albums by the Adverts and the Diodes will go nuts over this stuff (if you know who those bands are give yourself a pat on the back for being so up on 70s rock trivia)"-Alan Young, TRIFECTA e-newsletter"Which brings us to the issue at hand: Prizes From The Groove Arcade. With nine new tracks of Britpop manna from heaven, the groop head off into hitherto unexplored territories. Easily their most diverse & experimental disc yet, they still keep ...
