Purchase Taking Chances CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Slayer World Painted Blood CD (2009)
Taking Chances album
$9.58 Of the "big four" original thrash bands (the other three being Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth), Slayer was the least compromising and most consistent. As such, 2009's WORLD PAINTED BLOOD recalled more than the title of Slayer's 1986 masterpiece ...
| | Katatonia Night Is The New Day CD (2009)
Taking Chances CD music
$14.38 The latest album from Swedish doom rockers Katatonia, their first studio effort since 2006, is as moody and beautiful as their other latter-day work. The group's career can be marked in two stages based on the condition of singer Jonas Renske's vocal cords -- basically, after the band's first two albums, he developed health problems that prevented him from performing harsh death growls, and ever since the band has moved in an increasingly melodic direction, even covering songs by Will Oldham and Jeff Buckley. It's unsurprising ...
| | Michael Jackson Thriller CD (1982) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Special Edition
Taking Chances music CDs
$8.49 The finest example of perfect disco pop, and a record that should be prescribed to musical snobs and manic depressives. The album is a true ambassador of what pop music can be. Jackson whoops and dances through a suite of unforgettable melodies that should be danced to with a smile on your face. ...

| | Frank Zappa Joe's Garage Acts I, II & III CDs (1979) Remastered
Taking Chances album
$18.05 The superlative repackaging and remastering undertaken by Ryko has put the original three-part, two-record set of this magnificent nonsense tale together for the first time. This is back to the madness of Freak Out, with more pop and doo-wop bursting through all the complicated stuff, letting you know that Zappa could write a hit single, if he could be bothered to do so. Joe's Garage is a hoot and harmlessly pornographic. The sleeve-note states that it is "a stupid story about how the government is trying to do away with music." It is absolutely no coincidence ...

| | Bob Comtois With Relish CD (2002)
Taking Chances music CDs
$17.75 My name is Bob Comtois (pronounced, cone-TWA). For years I played mandolin and sang on the streets of Boston and its sister city, Cambridge. Perhaps you were among the few million people who stopped and watched me and my bands play in Harvard Square or by Fanueil Hall. Among you were Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, Peter Wolf, and the Impressions. Television, nightclubs, radio and colleges came to us, but it was always the exuberance of the street performances that was so exciting. My bands (i.e.Strings Attached, Hoot Spa, The Risa Benson Band, Public Domain and The Verbs) encountered some wonderful fans and visitors from around the world. They loved to dance to our upbeat sound- unique for its blending of folk-rock and R&B replete with sax, electric mandolin, great harmonies, and fun antics.Guest artists such as Bela Fleck and Patty Larkin graced the street and stage with us. We were pretty accessible in the 70’s and 80’s.Things are difficult to keep together, band-wise. So, over the years, my home studio became the place where musicians would come as I learned production techniques while I recorded many of my original songs as well as those of my clients. I am very proud of my work with my dear friend, fellow Boston street performer, and soul singer, Gerry Mack. I also have worked with Boy’s Life’s John Surrette, 70’s pop guru, Andy Pratt, and co-produced the recently r eleased "Rainy Day Sun shine" by Whistle Jacket (also available at cdbaby)."With Relish" is a collection ...
| | Z-PLAN Circus CD (1998)
Taking Chances songs
$12.65 Winner!!! for best Rock CD at Just Plain Folks! http://www.jpfolks.com With echoes of ELP and CSNY, Z-Plans Pop Rock harmonies remind me of why those bands' music endures. It is just plain good.Same can be said for Z-Plan whose songs have that classic rock quality, and sound fresh as can be in today's day and age of tired boy bands and the complete void of pop rock on the radio.Everyone like a good song. Zplan's style tries to pull from some of the best moments in high end vocal rock, but the true test of a song isn't what the songwriters and performers tried to do, it's what those who listen to it come away with. "I Was Blown Away" - (Musical Crossroads)"Lush guitars, excellent harmonies, and professional arranging, Z-Plan has a fine collection of pop/rock tunes here." - (Boston Sound Check Magazine)" These guys don't miss a note" - (Indie Journal)"Well, well, well...every now and then a CD comes along out of nowhere and just absolutely floors you with its harmony, melody, production, and sheer musicianship." ...
