Best of 2Pac, Pt. 2: Life buy CD music Customer Reviews
| Average Rating: | |
| LOVING the double release If there's anything better than one good thing, its two GREAT things. This album, together with part 1: THUG should appeal to both casual Pac fans as well as diehards like myself. By pOoS4life (Edmonton) |
| A second rate greatest hits This Cd has two parts "Thug" and "Life" so why didnt they make thug have all the hardcore tracks showing his thug side and life having tracks like dear mama & unconditional love, I thought thats how they would do it, I'm sure thats how pac would have wanted it but who knows (RIP!), anyway, I thought it was tight that theres a couple new tracks (Last tracks on both CD's) but they re-used alot of the songs off his classic Greatest Hits album (which I thought was much better) so if your a Pac fan & wanna complete your collection cop-it but if you dont have the money get the Greatest Hits instead or burn it since its very easy to find all these tracks! Dont get me wrong this is a 5 star album but I give it 2 for the simple fact that its lacking new material and resembles the greatest hits CD too much.2Pac for life! RIP Pac & Easy! WESTCOAST Mo-F*****! By Benjammin (Miami, FL, USA) |

Alicia Keys As I Am CD (2007) Top Seller
Best of 2Pac, Pt. 2: Life CD music The third full-length from contemporary R&B diva Alicia Keys is called AS I AM, a title that adequately reflects the album's straightforward, confessional soul-pop. Keys built her popularity making stylish, reflective, voice-and-piano music; AS I AM continues that trend, albeit in a poppier vein that balances neatly between neo-soul and adult contemporary. This is reflected in the midtempo grooves, songs of empowerment ("Superwoman"), and stirring ballads ("The Thing About Love"). Keys' collaborators on the album include songwriter Linda Perry, who co-wrote three of the album's tracks, and John Mayer, who twines voices with Keys on the sensual "Lesson Learned." Top-notch arrangements, which include gorgeous, retro-tinged flourishes via strings and horns, make the set shimmer, but it's the strength of the hook-heavy tunes and Keys' moving performances that make AS I AM stick. It's not the five-star album she's capable of, but it leaves little doubt that Keys is moving steadily in that direction.

Me Against the World CD (1995) Top Seller
Best of 2Pac, Pt. 2: Life songs ME AGAINST THE WORLD was nominated for a 1996 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. "Dear Mama" was nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance.
Forget everything you've heard and assumed about rapper/actor 2Pac and think only of his music, which has always stood in the shadow of his lifestyle. ME AGAINST THE WORLD tries to make sense of all the stormy events that have surrounded the gifted vocalist--transforming 2Pac into the "rap star" he's always yearned to be--and turns out to be his best work yet.
ME AGAINST THE WORLD seriously connects the rapper with his audience by remaining "real." Although much of the public is already familiar with the all-too politicized/publicized life of Tupac Shakur, the album disputes their perception and serves as his halo. "If I Die 2Nite" couples 2Pac's intense thoughts with the flava-in-ya-ear sound provided by hip-hop super producer Easy Mo Bee. 2Pac softens his tone on "Dear Mama," celebrating the one woman who has stuck by him through it all. The album also focuses on issues known and experienced not only by this "hip-hop outlaw," but by those who share his lifestyle. Many "thugs" have lost their homies and struggled to keep themselves alive in the hood, and so has 2Pac; and his mourning is manifested on "So Many Tears," which is enhanced by a sample of Stevie Wonder's harmonica. "Can U Get Away" carefully alerts women involved in abusive relationships, and labels 2Pac as their saviour. Giving props to the New York rap scene, "Old School" is a tribute to the founders of hip-hop and reminisces about "how it was." Musically, the comfortable tracks help convey positive messages ("Young Niggaz"), and lyrically, 2Pac is, as always, on point.
Engineers include: Tony Pizarro, Jay Lean, Paul Arnold.
Personnel: 2Pac, Dan O'Leary, Debbie Hambrick, Sarah Diamond, Jay Jensen, Jill Rose (vocals); Darryl Crooks, Eric "Kenya" Baker, Ronnie Vann (guitar); The Piano Man (keyboards); Stretch, Moe Z.M.D., Eboni Foster, Killa, Milia, L. Tyler, G. Money, Kim Armstrong, Kenyatta Forman, Reggie Green, Rah Rah, "Sweet Franklin" (background vocals); Thug Life, Dramacydal, Digital Underground, Lady Levi, Richard "Richie Rich" Serrell, Natasha Walker, Puff Johnson.

Loyal to the Game CD (2004)
Best of 2Pac, Pt. 2: Life album for sale P/A. All Prev.Unrel.Tracks. W/ 50 Cent,Jadakiss,L.Banks,Outlw
Dozens of posthumous releases have been culled from 2Pac's archives, both by his mother, Afeni Shakur, and by more dubious sources. Eight years after the conflicted poet/thug's death comes Loyal to the Game, featuring more untapped rhymes. These recordings are the latest unearthed by Afeni Shakur, and while it might be easy to dismiss yet another new collection, two things work in this album's favor. The tapes were handed over to hip-hop icon Eminem, providing a completely unique angle on 2Pac's rhymes. More importantly, while these offerings are late in coming, that is not to say 2Pac's mother is desperately peddling the dregs of his output; the lyrics on Loyal to the Game are razor-sharp. Eminem's trademarked heavily syncopated sound provides an almost surreal sheen to the proceedings, and Em's voice graces the strong opening track, "Soldier Like Me (aka The Return of the Soulja)." The guests run the gamut from 2Pac contemporaries Nate Dogg and members of the fallen rapper's crew, the Outlawz, to relative newcomers Jadakiss and G-Unit, but all performances are solid and requisitely reverent to the memory of Tupac Shakur. Loyal to the Game simply combines strong remaining lyrics of a late master with newer ones, and stands as one of the best posthumous 2Pac releases.
Personnel: 2Pac (rap vocals); Ronald Isley, Sleepy Brown (vocals); Edi, Eminem, G-Unit, Jadakiss, Nate Dogg, Noble, Obie Trice, Big Syke (rap vocals).

Best of 2Pac, Pt. 2: Life CD music Personnel includes; 2Pac, Mya, Jazze Pha, Nas, Outlawz, T.I., Trick Daddy, Tyrese, Anthony Hamilton, Ron Isley.
Contains an untitled hidden track following "They Don't Give A **** About Us".
This exercise in rap-from-the-dead is brought to you courtesy of 2Pac's Mom Afeni and label boss and material witness Suge Knight. Hewing to the laws of fame intensified by early death, the pair have ensured that the late and legendary rapper's martyrdom in the East-West Coast rap wars doesn't cramp his style. The resurrected raps on the double CD BETTER DAYZ, just one in a plethora of posthumous 2Pac releases, come rattling out of the speakers in the form of remixes by such rising lights as Jazze Pha and lesser-known talents like 7 Aurelius. All participants make passable efforts at injecting some posthumous pizazz into the proceedings, notably the coruscating "Never a Peace" and the sweet-and sour Spanish guitar-accompanied "Mama's Just a Little Girl." So just sit back and enjoy the artistry, and most of all the essential humanity of 2Pac's particular flavor--and the artful smoke and mirrors of the remixers as they reassemble these fragments and sketches into listenable tracks.
