Benny Hill's World Tour DVD (1990)
East Side Kids Classics Triple Feature - Spooks Run Wild/Bowery Blitzkrieg/Smart Alecks video Benny Hill takes to the streets of New York City in his last ever Television spectacular! Taking in all the sights and sounds, Benny attempts to rap, tries to pick up a New York woman, and attempts to impersonate Roseanne Barr and Dr. Ruth Westheimer.
One of the world's most beloved comedians, Britain's outrageous Benny Hill, hits the streets of New York City and does his best to take a big bite out of the Big Apple, with hilarious results! He embraces the city with all his bumbling enthusiasm, mastering rap, demonstrating the finer points of picking up a New York woman and learning how to assist a beautiful cosmopolitan damsel in distress. Of course, no Benny program would be complete without Hill playing a few female roles. He's both Dr. Ruth Westhiemer and Roseanne Barr in a hysterical skit called "Ask Dr. Ruth" and dons drag for "A Streetcar Named Desire."

Harold Lloyd Comedy Collection Vol 1 DVDs (2005)
East Side Kids Classics Triple Feature - Spooks Run Wild/Bowery Blitzkrieg/Smart Alecks review Some of the the early silent movies of Harold Lloyd, one of the first comedians to work in film, are collected on this release. Lloyd's film career began in 1913 with a number of small, uncredited parts in some of the earliest movies to be committed to celluloid. But it didn't take long for him to blossom into a star in his own right, and this collection begins with two short films from 1919--ASK FATHER and FROM HAND TO MOUTH. In both these films, and the subsequent AN EASTERN WESTERNER (1920), Lloyd is cast as "The Boy," a nameless comic figure who tries to woo a character known simply as "The Girl" (usually played by faithful Lloyd sidekick Mildred Davis). SAFETY LAST! (1923) sees Lloyd and Davis reprising their roles once again, and is notable for one of the most iconic and enduring images of the late actor as he straddles the hands of a clock on a perilously high building in New York City. Rounding out this collection, GIRL SHY (1924) sees Lloyd really hitting his stride. Playing a loser in love who tries to prevent the object of his desire from getting married, the film is packed full of inventive dream sequences, tremendous slapstick, and a hair-raising car chase. The first in a two-part collection of films from Lloyd, this is a wonderful way to experience the work of one of the true greats of the silent era.

Season of the Witch DVDs (1976)
East Side Kids Classics Triple Feature - Spooks Run Wild/Bowery Blitzkrieg/Smart Alecks movie Joan Mitchell (Jan White) is bored with her suburban existence. She is plagued by nightmares involving a man in a demon mask. With an uncommunicative teenage daughter and a husband who is always away on business, she searches for something to fill the void. She becomes intrigued by a practicing witch who lives in the neighborhood, and soon her interest in the black arts becomes more than casual. While learning her craft, she successfully tries a spell that allows her to seduce her daughter's boyfriend. Soon, though, Joan becomes convinced that her husband is responsible for the unpleasantness in her life, and it isn't long before her efforts turn murderous.
Romero's third film (after NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and the little-seen THERE'S ALWAYS VANILLA) finds him in a distinctly experimental mode when compared to his other works. Though it relies on clear-cut horror elements (certain sequences are quite chilling), it frequently seems that the director was aiming more for the art house than the drive-in. Fans of Romero's zombie films may be in for a shock upon their first viewing of SEASON OF THE WITCH, but the open-minded horror fan will find plenty to like here.
Filmed as Jack's Wife and briefly released under the title Hungry Wives, George A. Romero's third feature is the disturbing story of a suburban housewife's descent into extramarital sex and the occult. Jan White stars in this daring drama. Also included is a bonus feature, There's Alway VAnilla, starring Ray Laine and Judith Ridley. Extras include documentary, trailers, featurettes, poster and still gallery, credit sequences, George A. Romero bio.

Monsieur Ibrahim DVD (2004)
East Side Kids Classics Triple Feature - Spooks Run Wild/Bowery Blitzkrieg/Smart Alecks movie Vividly portraying a 1960s Paris neighborhood where lower-class status unites residents of varied religious and ethnic backgrounds, MONSIEUR IBRAHIM follows the universally appealing story of a young boy's coming of age. Moses (Pierre Boulanger), a Jewish teenager, lives in an apartment with his depressed father. His father's detachment leaves Moses with ample time for listening to rock music, pursuing alluring prostitutes, and making daily visits to the corner grocery where he befriends the owner, Monsieur Ibrahim (Omar Sharif). Monsieur Ibrahim looks the other way when Moses steals food, teaches him the difference between being Arab and being Muslim, and dispenses advice on life, love, and happiness. When Moses' father eventually abandons him, Monsieur Ibrahim adopts him and cements the father-son bond that each of them desperately needs.
Though never the focus of the film, the exploration of religion and ethnicity underscores French attitudes toward immigrants in that era, and establishes differences between the main characters. Moses' openness to learning about Monsieur Ibrahim's Sufi practices and studying the Koran reflects not only the blending of cultures in 20th-century France, but also the boy's yearning for parental direction, values, and affection. A brilliant cast--including a thoughtful performance by Sharif--and a period-perfect soundtrack of American and French rock music, enhance the already compelling story. In the tradition of other films that examine the importance of the father figure, like KOLYA and THE BICYCLE THIEF, MONSIEUR IBRAHIM provides a complex, touching, humorous study of this fundamental relationship.
