With a different track list than his 2002 album of the same name, 2008's VALENTINE finds contemporary instrumentalist Jim Brickman in his most lush, smooth, and pop-oriented mode. Brickman's piano playing resembles the atmospheric melodicism of George Winston (at times it veers into the radio-ready sound of mainstream pop balladry), and his performances make VALENTINE gleam.
Most of the VALENTINE consists of Brickman's unadorned solo piano pieces, but there are a few vocal tracks, such as "To Hear You Say You Love Me" and "Love of My Life," sprinkled throughout. The vocals cuts are love ballads, and provide a nice balance to the pretty, soothing instrumentals.

Swedish trio Plunge consists of saxophonist Andreas Andersson, bassist Mattias Hjorth and drummer Peter Nilsson. This, the group´s second CD, features the trio with renowned Swedish pianist Bobo Stenson as their guest! The rewarding collaboration between the trio and Stenson began in the fall of 2002, and has so far resulted in numerous tours of Sweden, several national and European radio broadcasts and this CD, 'Plunge With Bobo Stenson' (KOPACD 007), released in 2005.The record features a mix of collective improvisations and original compositions. This is acoustic music heavily based on organic interplay, intensity and spontaneity. Characteristic of the group is an identifiable nordic and personal sound, emphasizing a strong melodic core and a creative sense of form. The quartet´s music moves effortlessly between the coral-like and floatingly lyrical to vibrantly rhythmical pieces and full-blown free form playing. A lot of room is given to dynamic and textural variation, melodic improvisation and rhythmic playfulness. 'Plunge With Bobo Stenson' could be considered part of, and an extension of the creative Scandinavian jazz legacy established in the 1960´s. PLUNGE WITH BOBO STENSON IS:Andreas Andersson - SaxophonesAndreas has, with his powerful sound and lyrical playing, established himself as one of Sweden's most personal saxophonists. He is active on the Swedish improv scene, as well as in the jazz community. He plays in duos with pianist Ola Heden and renowned organ improviser Markus Wargh, and has also performed with Bobo Stenson, Marilyn Mazur and Sten Sandell among others. Andreas has composed music for improvising big band, amateur theatre, documentary movies, and numerous tunes for smaller ensembles. Mattias Hjorth - Double bassMattias´s melodic and sensitive playing is featured in several groups, such as Cennet Jönsson Quartet, Loïc Dequidt Trio/Quartet and Footloose. Mattias has worked with many renowned musicians, such as Bobo Stenson, Dave Liebman, Tommy Smith, Lotte Anker, Lennart Åberg, Fredrik Ljungkvist, Lina Nyberg and Peter Danemo. A Produce's Reflect Like a Mirror, Respond Like an Echo is an expertly crafted ambient, almost trance-like sonic excursion into the dark underworld of minimalist sonic tapestries. With Reflect, A Produce has truly created a recording that grabs the listener and makes their ears perk up. A Produce has always been known in ambient circles for his amazing ability to make ordinary instruments and instrumentation sound extraordinary, and there's nothing new with this 1997 re-release, which was originally a limited edition in 1992. Reflect really shows A Produce craftily blending richly sonorous timbres and multi-dimensional trance-like drumming, and what's more important is how far ahead of it's time this recording really is, as if the artist in his single-sighted pursuit of excellence came up with a sound and an ambience that the ambient genre, as a whole, wouldn't really yield until some time later. Reflect is quite possibly one of the best recordings in A Produce's catalog. He's done a lot of things -- of particular interest is his 1999 Hypnos Recordings collaboration with M. Griffin which was a profoundly critical release -- but as far as solo work goes, this is one of the best, and it's a great starting point. ~ Matt Borghi
A Produce has been exploring the vast realm of trance-oriented musical expression for several years in rock formats and other styles. In 1992,he released "Reflect Like a Mirror, Respond Like an Echo" which, like his previous LP "The Clearing," (1988)almost defied categorization, neither falling neatly into the New Age category, or into the realm of "space music." Rather, both works blended the complementary aspects of several realms of modern day trance music -- ethno-ambient, electronic, New Age and space music, the idea vehicle for relaxation, contemplation, even movement. The 1992 was a limited edition of 1000 copies done on letterpress by Independent Project Records of Sedona, AZ.In 1997, A Produce re-issued a special edition of "Reflect Like a Mirror, Respond Like an Echo" (the original '92 edition having been long out of print). This special edition was remastered with the assistance of Robert Rich, and includes 3 bonus tracks: the previously-unreleased tracks "The Marble Staircase" and "Sunstream", plus the extended version of "A Smooth Surface" (24 min), issued in 1994 as a limited edition CD.
