In the same year that Bob Dylan stepped back from his electric pilgrimages by releasing an album of roots-oriented morality tales, the Byrds took a symbolic flight to Nashville. Sweetheart of the Rodeo CD music Gone was Roger McGuinn's singular 12-string guitar sound and the acid rock that had influenced everyone from the Monkees to the Velvet Underground. And then along came Byrds...
"... suddenly, Rock & Roll was crystal clear and cold, coming down the Rockies where it was birthed from the melting snow... " While Acid Rock, and 'Pyschedelic Cowboys', influenced my youthful daze, Sweetheart of the Rodeo manifested redemption in blue grass, Rock & Roll, country western... and "The Christian Life"!

Seabees
Sweetheart of the Rodeo songs I first heard this album when I was in the Seabees. It brought back so many memories: birds, sweethearts, and rodeos. Now when I hear it, it makes me think of the Seabees. Good Times... No. Make that Great Times.

Sweetheart
Sweetheart of the Rodeo album for sale This album lives up to it's name. It is a real sweetheart of excellent Byrd material. Much better than the re-issued set of a few years back. Much better sound quality and a lot of unfamilar material.

Wow.
Sweetheart of the Rodeo CD music What a stellar album. So beautiful, laid-back and heartbreaking. The special features are also great. A worthy purchase for any Byrds fans, or for anyone who is a fan of country music... TRUE country music, that is.
