Younger Than Yesterday CD music Includes liner notes by David Fricke and Johnny Rogan. Released in April 1967, months before the Summer Of Love, YOUNGER THAN YESTERDAY was proof that The Byrds had already graduated from their fascination with the psychedelic "scene." "Eight Miles High" may have introduced the general public to the counter culture's interests and fascinations, but this song cycle found The Byrds reluctant to rest their faith in either the growing movement they helped bring together, or the art form that was the movement's voice. Great mono remaster
This gold disc mono version sounds clear and dense without tinny high end sound. A nice warm mono sound for one of their best albums. I can only hope Audio Fidelity releases more Byrds mono recordings.

I still keep my original 1967 mono vinyl LP as a treasure. Perfect space capsule soundtrack to present the Planet Earth culture to the whole Universe.

Best Byrds Album Ever!
The best album these guys ever did!.I got the lp way back in 67 when I was 7!Still great today,chris has his best work,david and roger shine,even michael sounds good!Love the bonus tracks on the cd.GREAT!

desert island disk!
The Byrds at their best. An amazing album covering so many different musical styles and forms that it a miracle the album stands as a whole. This release also includes the singles released right after the album sessions concluded making this a "MUST HAVE" edition. The sound quality is great, but the music is awesome!

The Byrds' Masterpiece
The songwriting credits here are very democratic. Hillman gets several songs and all of them are impressive. Crosby's best work with the band is here as well. The musicianship is strong led by McGuinn's 12-string and Hillman's very competent bass. The highlights are superlative - Crosby's chilling Everybody's Been Burned, as good a song as he ever wrote, and the swirling, chiming Renaissance Fair; McGuinn's classic So You Want to Be a Rock 'N' Roll Star; and Hillman's double entendre Thoughts and Words with sitar-like guitars. The ONLY low point on the album is Crosby's blatantly self-indulgent Mind Gardens.
