Back In Black album Product Description
After the untimely death of former enigmatic vocalist Bon Scott, AC/DC finally chanced upon a worthy replacement in the shape of former Geordie frontman, Brian Johnson. The result was more than the formal pastiche some expected, with Johnson stamping his own personality, not to mention distinctive rasp, on the record. The band's staple lyrical diet of sex and the general pursuit of happiness, however, remained very much intact. Highlights include the stomping 'Hell's Bells', the quiet build of the title track, and the chuckling insolence of, 'Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution'. A winning return. Rolling Stone - Ranked number 26 in Rolling Stone's "100 Best Albums Of The 80s" survey, November 1989. Rolling Stone (10/3/02, p. 108) - 4 stars out of 5 - "... The essence of unrepetantly simple but savagely crafted hard rock..." Q (8/00, p. 126) - Included in Q's "Best Metal Albums Of All Time" Q (12/94, p. 157) - 4 Stars - Excellent - "... The apotheosis of evil, sidewinding boogie and pig-ignorant sexism... BACK IN BLACK's irresistible first half gives it the edge over absolutely every other heavy rock album from the early 1980s..." ...See Full Description

| Pretty Good I really liked this one. But I still like High Voltage, and Let There Be Rock more. And I liked Bon scott better than Brian Johnston. I still have to give them credit for coming up with something this good for a first album with a new singer. By tony (Las Vegas , NV) This review is for a different format. |
| A staggering achievement and a brilliant album What can one say? At the least one can say that Back in Black is staggering achievement and a brilliant album for the following 3 reasons: (1)Had to replace Bon. (2)Back in Black followed the highly successful Highway to Hell album. (3)There is no weakness in the album. As of today, over 42-million albums of Back in Black have sold world-wide—the second highest in world history. Quentessential AC/DC. Back in Black is an amazing album by an amazing hard-rock band. Love it. In fact, I am listening to it now ("Have a Drink on Me", to be specific). By willist1 (dallas) This review is for a different format. |
| ACDC Back in Black Review A great Album, still love all the songs on it even though Bon Scott was not the lead singer, although I still think you can't beat some of the classic earlier songs in Bon Scott's time with the band were better.
