| | Chris Young Man I Want To Be CD (2009)
Mama's Quarters CD music
$9.09 Since Chris Young appeared on the "Nashville Star" television program in 2006, he's been on a roll. After signing with RCA he had a hit with "Drinkin' Me Lonely," his first single from his self-titled debut recording. Likewise, the two singles that have preceded the release of THE MAN I WANT TO BE in 2009 haven't done too badly either, getting plenty of play on radio. While Chris Young's sound is firmly in the contemporary country camp, it's also a lot more hardcore honkytonk than it is the refried '70s rock clichés that plague the genre. Part of that is due to his big booming baritone voice that rings as clear as a bell in this mix. (Think George Strait-meets-Josh Turner.) The other part of his ...

$11.99 These are the complete sessions that John Martyn recorded for two BBC disc jockeys between 1973 and 1978, and though a few have seen release elsewhere before, the majority are new to CD and a welcome addition to the Martyn canon. There's plenty of electric improvisation here, including "Devil Got My Woman" (really "I'd Rather ...

| | Dana Abbott Halfway Home CD (2007)
Mama's Quarters songs
$10.15 Determined since the age of 4 to be a 'singer star' Dana began her career by getting involved in school/church choirs in her hometown of Burlington, VT. Showing dedication and passion at such an early age she continued to pick up steam...as well as other instruments. She started with piano, then the cello, percussion and melodic percussion. Though a classically trained pianist, Dana found sanctuary in her parents' collection of Motown, fostering a deep love for R&B as well as Chicago Blues. At the age of 16 Dana taught herself guitar and started writing her own music. At the age of 18 Dana decided to move to Chicago, drawn to its blues roots that had so inspired her. Shortly after her arrival she fronted a band called 'Blue Judith.' When the band went their separate ways, Dana continued her solo pursuits. Her canon of songs began getting increasing attention, particularly from musicians in New Orleans, who encouraged her to move to a city where music is a way of life. In June of 2005 she left Chicago for the Crescent City, little knowing that a mere two months later her new home would be devastated by Hurricane Katrina. During the process of rebuilding her life and helping her city recover, a "Myspace" Cinderalla story took place. ...

It's about living and working with God and raising your children to know, understand, and appreciate this lifestyle. It's about the perils and mishaps; the romance and love. It's about the horses, cattle and dogs. And mostly, it's about the cowboys and cowgirls who keep it all alive.Performance Reviews:Diane Tribitt is a fresh young cowboy poet who sparkles when she performs. ...
