Microbrew album
$14.38 Glitter and Doom Live, a double-disc set, marks Tom Waits' third live effort in his nearly 40-year career, each one summing up his career to the point of its release. The first, Nighthawks at the Diner issued in 1975 on Asylum, is regarded by many as one of the greatest live albums of all time. The second was Big Time, released during his tenure at Island in 1986. The musical performances on disc one of Glitter and Doom Live were culled from Waits' historic sold-out tour of the U.S. and Europe. He compiled and sequenced the set himself, intending to make them sound like a single show. The material leans, understandably, on his recordings with the ...

KC's debut album introduced to the world a group that threw various '60s genres into a blender and set the results afire with a blowtorch. One of the pioneers of the progressive rock movement that began in the late '60s and flourished in the early '70s, King Crimson was arguably the most consistently creative band in the genre. On IN THE COURT they blend wispy, Donovan-ish folk-rock with Wagnerian grandeur, mind-bending heavy rock, and even a free- jazz sensibility. Greg Lake's vocals are effectively theatrical but more restrained than in his later ELP work. Robert Fripp was just learning how to make mincemeat of a chord progression, but he's alternately lyrical and frenetic as the moment requires.
The extended ...
| | Rod Stewart Never A Dull Moment (Gold) CD (1972) Gold
Microbrew album
$19.10 NEVER A DULL MOMENT picks up where EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY left off. Here we have more raucous rock & roll with healthy dollops of soul and twang thrown in for good measure. Always looking for a good songwriter to cover, Stewart's honorees here include Jimi Hendrix ("Angel"), Dylan ("Mama You Been On My Mind"), and Rod's personal hero, Sam Cooke ("Twistin' The Night Away"). Sidling up nicely next to these heartfelt interpretations are some of Stewart's finest original songs. Teaming with spiritual brother Ron Wood, Stewart ...

| | Jennifer Lane In A Magazine CD (2007)
Microbrew album
$18.99 Jennifer Lane's latest release, 'In A Magazine', is a bold statement from a woman who has had it with the media's constant bombardment of images of unobtainable beauty standards...ie; the fashion industry's obsession with youth and being unbelievably thin. Jennifer touches on sensitive issues , such as spousal abuse, getting older in a world that exalts youth, and even the plight of migrant workers, from a migrant woman's point of view. This album was elegantly recorded with the best musicians and engineers. Jennifer took her time to produce this piece of work. Her care and attention to detail make listening to her work a moving and thought provoking experience. New Album Review "Jennifer Lane's newest CD, 'In A Magazine', just plain rocks! Plush full sound! Rich harmonies and horn lines. Cool funky grooves. Maybe you've seen her in one of her frequent appearances with her bass player at Elway's. That act (Jennifer Lane's Rock 'N Soul Duo) as fun as it is, pales in comparison to what she can do in the studio with a full band and her own original music. Notably, Paris Delane from Sonia Dada sings on a couple tracks and the rest of the musicians are just as good. A few of the highlights: "I'm So Ready" starts out gospel and then goes funk. "In This House" has a cool dance/funk groove. "River of Truth" has a more serious tone, illustrating Lane's ability to change things up. "Bone Happy" is a slightly naughty love song. We'll let you decide what it's really about. There's a tasty long piano solo on "River of Truth." There's cool horn work on "She's Strange." Clearly, Lane spent a lot of time producing this album. It's perfect! Buy this album if you like music that means something." - Rock on ColoradoJuly 30th 2007ABOUT JENNIFER LANEWith appearances in DownBeat Magazine, Blues Review, Living Blues Magazine, The FemaleMusician and Candence, among other acclaim, Jennifer Lane is the real deal. A true musician, with heavy piano playin’ chops, and a voice that is very versatile and flexible, all of which compliments her intuitive writing, arranging and production abilities. She’s on the brink of bringing her music to the national ear. Smart and sassy, sweet and soulful, this is no cookie cutter, manufactured, girl singer clone. On the wings of her new release, “In a Magazine”, Jennifer is back at it again. She has teamed with popular producer Kenny Passarelli , who wrote “Rocky Mountain Way” with Joe Walsh, played bass and co-produced on Dan Fogelberg’s “Part of the Plan”, toured with Elton John, Hall and Oats, and who’s production talents has taken Otis Taylor and Eddie Turner to the Handy Awards… winning one for Otis ...
