Who Saw Her Die? Movie Review  In a gothic Venice...
It's a rare gem, an immacolate version of an italian giallo, set in a dark, disturbing, shadowy, definitely hostile Venice. An old black-veiled lady, strangely dressed up in an unusual Mary Poppins fashion, a group of guilty looking artists, absorbed in something vicious. And a murder. Well, several ones. An incredible score by Morricone, a marvelously eerie tune, is going to fashinate you, while a weird, twisted, almost gothic story evolve to a surprise ending. A terrific movie, captivating, highly recommendable.

Part of Anchor Bay's GIALLO COLLECTION, which celebrates the often graphic Italian thrillers of the 1960s and 1970s, THE BLOODSTAINED SHADOW certainly contains enough sex and violence to qualify for that genre. In it, a college student named Stefano returns home from school to Venice in order to visit his brother, Don Paolo, who is a Catholic priest in a small Venetian town.
