The demise of Pantera reverberated deeply in the hearts and minds of heavy music fans. She’s An Army of One is an uplifting tribute to the millions of dedicated women who have in the past and presently serve in the armed forces of the United States. The project is centered around a new song written and composed by Nashville songwriter and producer, Mark Carman, titled "She's An Army of One." The lyrics for the song were written by Carman while waiting for a connecting flight at the Atlanta airport. According to TRA-STAR President, Frank Scherman, Carman was on his way to a business meeting in Virginia Beach, VA, when he made the stop in Atlanta. "While waiting there, Mark observed a number of military personnel in their uniforms and was intrigued by the number of female soldiers in the group. He just felt compelled to write the song as his way of saying thanks," said Scherman. "These were young women," said Scherman, "and like their male counterparts, they have devoted a part of their lives to the preservation of freedom and in support of the global war on terrorism." Although the song pays tribute to women soldiers in general, there was one particular soldier that Carman gives credit for being the inspiration for the song. That soldier is COL Mary C.
