| | Michael Nesmith From A Radio Engine To The Photon Wing / Infinite CD Michael Nesmith Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
Two CD set featuring a pair of acclaimed solo albums from former Monkees' member Michael Nesmith that have been out of print for years. From A Radio Engine To A Photon Wing (1977), which features the hit 'Rio', sees Nesmith moving away from the Country/Folk sound of his early solo material and embracing a more commercial and contemporary Pop sound. Infinite Riders On The Big Dogma (1979) was the outstanding follow-up and it features classics like 'Flying', 'Magic' and more. Many of the songs off of these albums were featured in Nesmith's groundbreaking Elephant Parts full-length video release. 18 tracks. Edsel Records. 2008. From A Radio Engine To The Photon Wing / Infinite album
$33.25 The Small Faces present their four disc U.K. import reissue release OGDEN'S NUT GONE FLAKE.
Having begun their career as the archetypal Mod band, the Small Faces latterly embraced traces of flower-power's whimsy. Astute enough not to sacrifice their identity, the quartet retained a distinctive perspective, as evinced by a string of superb pop singles, including "Here Comes The Nice" and "Itchycoo Park." A sense of pop melody and adventurism culminated on this album which encompassed tongue-in-cheek fun ("Lazy Sunday") and passionate love songs ("Afterglow"). Steve Marriott's ...

| | Donovan Barabajagal CD (1969) England; Remastered
From A Radio Engine To The Photon Wing / Infinite music CDs
$6.95 Donovan's last truly great album of the 1960s, 1968's BARABAJAGAL shows interesting artistic growth at least as marked as his transformation from folk troubadour to daffy hippie-pop guru. The title track and "Trudi" feature the Rod Stewart-era Jeff Beck Group as Donovan's backing band; consequently both these songs have a surprising amount of sonic heft to them.
Of course, Donovan is pretty much incapable of getting heavy, but the hard-candy pop suits him well. A version of Terry Reid's marijuana/fellatio multiple-entendre "Superlungs My Supergirl" is similarly rockin', but for most of the rest of the album, Donovan reverts to his usual folkish psych-pop. ...

From A Radio Engine To The Photon Wing / Infinite songs
$7.09 Digitally remastered English version contains nine bonus tracks ("Preachin' Love", "Good Time", "There Is A Mountain", "Superlungs" (Second Version), "Epistle To Dippy" (Alternative Arrangement), "Sidewalk (The Observation)" (Demo), "Writer In The Sun" (Demo), "Hampstead Incident" (Demo), and "Museum" (Demo)).
Originally released in 1967, MELLOW YELLOW is a US-only mishmash of singles, outtakes, and old album tracks featuring Donovan at his hippie-era peak. It blends fanciful psychedelia, like the title track--one of his finest singles--with earthier material like ...
