| | Jackson Browne Solo Acoustic Vol. 2 CD Jackson Browne Discography of CDs
(2 Customer Reviews)
A solid follow-up to 2005's SOLO ACOUSTIC VOLUME 1, this sequel was recorded at various concerts across several continents in the last few years, providing a wide overview of Jackson Browne's career as both a songwriter and a performer. Ranging across the breadth of Browne's lengthy career, from 1972's "Something Fine" to a handful of songs from 2002's THE NAKED RIDE HOME, SOLO ACOUSTIC VOLUME 2 is lighter on the instantly recognizable radio hits, although "Somebody's Baby" and "In the Shape of a Heart" are both accounted for. Even more appealing for longtime fans, over half of the 12 songs feature lengthy, at times rambling but always entertaining introductions about the songs themselves or the circumstances of their writing.

$8.99 After working his way through loss and chaos on the brilliant TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT (recorded in 1973, but not released until 1975), Neil Young deftly exorcised any lingering demons with 1974's ON THE BEACH. The album opens with the saunter of the aptly titled "Walk On," followed by the utterly gorgeous, Wurlitzer-tinged ...

| | Neil Young Live At Massey Hall 1971 CD (2007) Includes bonus DVD
Solo Acoustic Vol. 2 music CDs
$21.29 Bob Dylan once famously remarked about hearing Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" on the radio that he knew his days as the man of the hour were numbered. Fact is, Young is the only guy who can even reasonably compete with Dylan for the title of rock's greatest songwriter, and while "Dylan in the '60s" has long been a cliched assessment of an undeniable rock hot streak, so too has become "Neil Young in the '70s." While Dylan has long culled material from his archive, Young has been reluctant to do the same. He's now joining the fray full force with LIVE AT MASSEY HALL 1971--the second live release in an ongoing series from Young's legendarily deep vaults.
The performance comes between the release of AFTER THE GOLDRUSH and HARVEST and hot on the heels of DEJA VU, basically the last ...

| | Deaf Symphony Chains Of Love CD (2006)
Solo Acoustic Vol. 2 CD music
$11.49 Deaf Symphony™ unleashes their sophomore effort, entitled Chains of Love, with a vengeance. The release contains ten tracks of kick-in-the-gut heavy metal rock, anchored upon thundering grooves, crunching guitar hooks, shredding melodic leads, and heavy, but articulable, vocals. Well-thought-out lyrics capture the mood of the music on each and every song, boasting strong soul-stirring phrases that I found myself reading again and again, long after my speakers fell silent. Each track has a melodious and memorable flavor, without sacrificing any heavy metal edge—a skillful talent that only the top artists ever master. Much akin to the average listener, even with most of my favorite bands, my enjoyment level of a CD usually breaks down like this: two or three songs that I absolutely love, four to six that I totally enjoy, one or two that I could take or leave, and one that I simply skip past each time I listen to the CD. Not so with Chains of Love. This entire CD hits the bull’s eye of my hard core sweet spot, and I continually found my head involuntarily nodding to the driving rhythm of each and every track.Matt Cerbin and Howard Askeland master the definitive dual-guitar partnership, blending unique styles that compliment one another, while providing the inimitable six-string bruising that is the essence of the band’s unique sound. The gifted duo is scarcely rivaled when it comes to mixing taste and finesse with raw unbridled guitar fury.Slamming home the powerhouse grooves with the tastefulness of a session drummer, and the ferocity of a runaway train, is Larry Cox. With rhythmic double kick patterns that mirror intricate ...
