The scenes culminate in a morale-boosting final speech that President Franklin Roosevelt ordered printed and air-dropped over war-torn Europe. Condensed from the novel by Jan Struther. Academy Awards: 6, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress--Greer Garson, Best (Adapted) Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress--Teresa Wright. $15.65 This lush and beautifully photographed production of Louisa May Alcott's beloved novel contains more star power than any of its predecessors or successors in the 20th century. The setting is Concord, Massachusetts, during the Civil War, and Marmee Marach (Mary Astor) is attempting to raise her four teenage daughters in a time of deprivation and with her husband away fighting the war. June Allyson (THE GLENN MILLER STORY, THE STRATTON STORY) stars as Jo, the tomboy bookworm. Margaret O'Brien plays the selfless and tragic Beth. Elizabeth Taylor, in a perfect casting choice, plays the artistic Amy, and beautiful Janet Leigh (TOUCH OF EVIL, PSYCHO) takes on the role of responsible Meg. All of these stars turn in fine performances under the experienced coaching of director Mervyn LeRoy (MADAME CURIE, WATERLOO BRIDGE).

| | Superjoint Ritual - Live At CBGB: Changing The Face Of Music Through Uncompromising Images DVD (2004)
Mrs. Miniver review
$12.25 Initially conceived as a side project for Pantera singer Phil Anselmo, Superjoint Ritual has blossomed as a unit, and gained a sizeable following in the process. A hectic touring schedule coupled with some impressive record sales of their debut album USE ONCE AND DESTROY even lead to a main stage appearance at Ozzfest. Playing hard and heavy was the aim of the band, and they pull it off with some style. Here they play at New York City's legendary punk club, CBGB, where a devoted crowd feeds off the energy radiating from the stage. Among the tracks are "Antifaith," "Dress Like A Target," "The Destruction of a Person," "Waiting For The Turning Point," and many others.
This 2004 concert at New York City's CBGB was everything the fans have come to expect: unbridled chaos, raw energy, and pure metal delivered only the way Superjoint can. It's the closest you can get to being there without actually jumping in the circle pit. This DVD carries a parental advisory.
