High School Class Valedictorian…College Graduate…Entrepreneur! When you are thinking of today’s typical rap superstar, these are phrases that rarely, if ever, come to mind. These phrases, however, only begin to describe the many talents and accomplishments of the self-proclaimed “Future of Hip Hop”…JAY DOLLAR. Born Jimmy Hicks, Jr. in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Jay grew up in a small community which, like many parts of his small city, was overrun with drugs and crime. Jay made it a point in his life not to become a product of his environment. He always excelled in school and in sports. During his senior year in high school he was not only the class valedictorian, but he was also co-captain of the varsity basketball team and student council president. Two things that always stuck with Jay were his entrepreneurial spirit and his love for music, which is why his dream was to naturally start his own record label. This would not be a simple task. With few to none of his peers believing that he would succeed in the cut-throat world of the music industry, Jay set out to do it all on his own and founded BluffRock Entertainment. Noticing that today’s hip hop fan and artist alike had a unique fascination with the world of drug trafficking, Jay Dollar released the Lyrical Dope Mixtape Series under his BluffRock Entertainment which compared his fans’ addiction to his songs and lyrics to that of a drug addiction. With songs that glorified more legal forms of hustling, other songs that de-glorified the hip hop world’s love for all things Bling, and generally promoting uplifting the African-American society, Jay Dollar took a different route to get his message across. “Living in the environment that I did, having the type of people around me that I did, and having the type of parents I have helped me to be the artist I am today,” says Jay Dollar. “I made straight A’s in school during the day and hung out with drug dealers and gang members at night. I’ve witnessed both sides of the struggle and that has helped me to speak on several different topics from several different angles unlike the majority of rappers that are out right now. That is why I am the future of hip hop!” With his unique wordplay, creative metaphors, and insightful view on the world, Jay Dollar makes for an extremely exciting and fresh new MC to look out for. With his tenacity, uncanny mind for business, and undeniable determination, Jimmy Hicks, Jr. makes for one hell of a record executive. When you put the two together, Jay Dollar and BluffRock Entertainment will definitely be a force to be reckoned with. $10.15 The Moe Greene Specials have their track Maplewood Drive of their s/t CD on Green Cookie records, on the trailer of Scott Beck & Bryan Wood’s new movie "The Bride Wore Blood".About the movie: The Bride Wore Blood draws inspiration from the Italian and American Westerns of the 20th century. The story opens as The Hired Gun (Travis Shepherd), a bounty killer, is enlisted to protect The Bride (Christy Sullivan). He has one objective: protect her at all costs. The assignment takes a drastic turn when The Bride vanishes -- and her body appears in an abandoned train yard. The Hired Gun must find the killer and avenge her murder. However, as he embarks on his new mission, he soon discovers The Bride's true past. Suddenly, The Hired Gun finds himself trapped in a place where death is a currency and justice is a thing of the past. Please visit the http://www.thebrideworeblood.com/ for more informations about the movie.***********************************************************It's certainly the best spaghetti western album that Enrio Morricone never made and, to my ears at least, better than any of the albums hi did make. This is because it is intended for listening to rather than as an accompaniment to pictures. If you have any spagwest albums you certainly need this one too. If you ever fancied trying one and weren't sure where to start, then this is the place. Ok hombre?--Alan Taylor - Pipeline magazine [UK]***********************************************************From Belgium, The Moe Greene Specials play cinematic instrumental surf and spaghetti western tunes that evolve almost symphonically, with trumpets doubling the guitars. Musical influences vary from Calexico-style desert songs to Stax soul to Dick Dale.zptduda.com, USA***********************************************************The Moe Greene ...
