Blow That Horn CD music
$12.99 STOLAS is the 12th volume in John Zorn's BOOK OF ANGELS series of compositions, and it's a welcome and compelling idea that he decided to re-form his stellar Masada quintet for the occasion. In addition to the rhythm section of Joey Baron and Greg Cohen, trumpeter Dave Douglas, and pianist Uri Caine, Zorn enlisted tenor sax giant Joe Lovano to replace him on all but one cut where he adds his alto, making the group a sextet. Here klezmer, Yiddish folk music, bossa nova, and other Latin jazz all come together in a seamless meld of tunes that accent the symmetry of ensemble play as much as they do an extremely advanced sense of ensemble harmonics, rhythmic invention, and, of course, tautly arranged spaces for individual improvisation--check out the album's longest cut, "Tagriel," for evidence as Zorn's composition not only travels genres but centuries. The popping showcase for solos that is "Serakel" is nonetheless a grooving post-bop tune with a joyous klezmer lyric line. The sheer shimmering beauty of "Psisya," which moves from jazz ballad to bossa to Hebrew folk ...

Blow That Horn music CDs
$6.25 Returning with a stellar sophomore album, Ginuwine picks up where his 1996 debut album left off. On 100% GINUWINE, he sounds prepared to break out into superstar pop status. Packed with lyrical passion and bomb beats, the soulful singer has found a maturity and depth to his music that is rare for a sophomore album. Produced mostly by Timbaland, 100% GINUWINE is everything a '90s R&B album should be. It contains a balance of ballads and head-nodders, with lyrics you'll want to return to again and again.
Among the stand-out tracks are "Final Warning" which features an appearance from the sweet-voiced Aaliyah, "Wait A Minute," a slow-building ballad with beautiful harmonies that could be described as blues-meets-R&B-meets-hip-hop, and "I'm Crying Out." Also, be sure to check out the remake of the classic Michael Jackson song "She's Out Of My Life." This album is a must for Ginuwine fans, and for anyone who appreciates polished, passionate soul music.

Blow That Horn songs
$15.95 Fairly Good Songs for Fairly Good Kids is the first Dog on Fleas CD. It's the seed from which the band was formed. First came the CD, then came the band. This CD has garnered radio airplay and fans all over the world. On it is the hit song "Underwear" that kids just go nuts for, featuring Peaches the Dog (aka Jessie Scherer). Produced and recorded by Dean Jones in his No Parking Studios in Upstate New York, the CD has lots of variety in songwriting and sounds. From the jazzy fiddle and funny wordplay on "Fruit Family" to the cool cat banter on "Dig" and the funky beat, keyboards, horns, and thoughtful lyrics of "Worms" to the latin pop of "Plenty of Cats". Add a couple of old-time fiddle and mandolin tunes, a rousing rendition of "Mama Don't Allow" (with odd solos on walkie talkies, pots and pans, star drummer Raisa St. Pierre, and a car horn ensemble!!!!), a surf tune about spiders, and a song about people from the animal's point of view, "Human Zoo", and you have a great adventure in listening for kids of all ages (until they are too cool to admit they like it, then just make sure you're not around when they listen). The following is from a review in Chronogram Magazine: What is that rascally Dean Jones up to now? One of New York's wackiest Renaissance people has put together an album of kids' music that brings together an eclectic group of musicians (and noisemakers) under the title Dog on Fleas. Sampling some tracks, you find that it's a kids album that doesn't pander to children. It treats kids as sensible, thinking creatures that can make logical ...
