Rondo? From the French – a poetic and musical form characterized by roundness worth its poundage in silver. Starting in 2003 as the duo of Robert S. Cambron (lyrics/vocals/guitars) and Adam Huffer (saxophone/keyboards/etc.), Rondo Sterling spent three years as a touring quartet before finally streamlining into the original two. In November 2007, RS released their long-awaited debut LP, Sprezzatura, the most impressive independent album of the year. Sprezzatura? A Renaissance virtue of artistic discipline – ability sans effort, performance by transparent skill. This incredible 10-song album is a showcase of creativity, virtuosity and taste. Rondo Sterling makes use of multiple instrumentation arranged brilliantly to augment each song. As a vocalist, Robert Cambron utilizes a low baritone to high tenor range and divine tone to subtly express the changing moods in his lyrics. Adam Huffer’s saxophone performance combines the discipline of classical training with the spirit of improvisation to reach a vibrant higher ground. Also expect unforgettable performances in classical percussion, jazz drums and upright bass, among others. With this exciting collection of songs, Rondo Sterling has proven their studio prowess. Now look for them to rock a stage near you.Sprezzatura is the culmination of a year’s time in the studio and the collaboration of a near dozen, young, professional musicians. Rondo, say? You might be surprised at the degree of talent and sheer performance velocity in this independent release from Louisville, KY. One listen to the glidingly angelic harmonies in “Lordy Lordy” or the precisely unpredictable saxophone solo in “Clown Knife” and you’ll know you’re dealing with a new formula of skillful grace. “Flakes” is a catchy ballad with melodies you’ll hum along to for days. Try not to bob your head to the dirty KY funk of “Skulletor” or the rotten romp “Diverticulitis.” By the time you’ve soared with the rocking “Pistolier,” and felt the chill of the darkly realistic “Smokestacks and the Smoke,” you’ll be reckoned with the Sterling. And what’s more? It gets better with each listen. And surely Sprezzatura is only the beginning. This is an album that will stay with you thanks to strong songwriting, eloquent lyricism, and professional production. All ten songs work together to give the listener close to an hour of diversified, spectacular music that is more than just popular. Call it fusion if you must, but the only real classification for Sprezzatura is that it’s Sterling.Rondo Sterling was initiated in 2002 by longtime friends Robert Scott and Adam Huffer in Louisville, Kentucky. Scott and Adam had just received degrees from the University of Louisville and Boston University, respectively, Scott’s in English and Adam’s in Music Theory/Saxophone Performance. May 2005 brought the band’s first release, a self-titled 4 song EP that found significant radio play on 91.9 WFKP Louisville and 104.7 iRadio Los Angeles. This four song EP was thought of as B-Sides to the debut full-length album. Through various incarnations Rondo Sterling has performed over 50 shows in many venues across the East, South, and Mid-West from Birdy’s in Indianapolis, The Rudyard Kipling and Uncle Pleasant’s in Louisville, to the 2004 Kentucky State Fair and 2005 International Bar-B-Q Festival, and the 10th annual Millenium Music Conference. Their stage prowess is lead by Adam Huffer’s over 500 career public performances. In 2008 watch for performances at Headliner’s Louisville, South Gate House, and a return trip to Birdy’s, among others. With a combination of humor, intelligent instrumentation and a flair for clever hooks, these Kentucky boys stir up the pop/rock formula. Just when you think there’s nothing good to pipe through your speakers, along comes Rondo Sterling’s Sprezzatura to save the day. Rondo Sterling Sprezzatura Songs | 1. | Lordy Lordy |

Sprezzatura music CDs
$16.65 The bulky title of this disc was sparked by its documentation of recordings assembled by Joe Bihari of Modern Records on scouting trips through the South for talent between 1948 and 1953. (Starting in 1952, the young Ike Turner also worked for Modern in this capacity.) Just two of the names on this 24-track anthology are famous: Howlin' Wolf, represented by an audition acetate of "Riding in the Moonlight" (first issued in 1991), and Elmore James, whose two cuts appeared on an Ace box set in 1993. Some other names -- like Smokey Hogg, Lil' Son Jackson, and Joe Hill Louis -- will catch the eyes of in-the-know blues experts, but for the most part even those with extensive blues collections will be mostly or totally unfamiliar with most of the artists. This is raw, Southern, just-post-World War II blues, caught in its transition from its rural roots to something more electric and citified. Certainly it's rawer than much commercially released blues of the time, and in fact about half of it was either previously ...

Originally released via a French label in 1980 soon after its recording, and getting a long overdue domestic issue in 2004 as part of the ZE label's reactivation, Paris 1980 Live Aux Bains Douches acts as a counterpart to the ROIR Live in New York/White Cannibal set, recorded around the same period. With a different set list to the NYC tape, as well as much clearer sound, Live Aux Bains Douches, recorded at the Paris venue of that name in front of a loudly appreciative crowd, has plenty of snarling passion from Chance and company, but also the same sense of control and skill that makes his ...

$16.45 January 1992. André Thilges(guitar), former member of the legendary Nazz Nazz, Rock Band made in Luxemburg, got a new band started. More Nazz Nazz members, Claude Kieffer(guitar) and Fern Clees(harp) joined Al Werner(keys), Änder Frings(vocals), Dan Turmes(bass) and Steve Troes(drums), all of them well known in the local music scene.Everyday Zulu was born! The band toured Slovakia and the Czech Republic in 1993. From the beginning, EDZ was a kind of unusual rock and blues concoction and the first CD “Touch the Earth” was released in April ’94. But then, several members left the band and the line-up started changing time and again during that dark unproductive period of ’95-’96. Through all this, André and Al never gave up and by 1997 they had a “new” band put together. André Thilges(guitar), Al Werner(keys), Michel Weis(drums), Pit Vinkowsky(pipes), Mario Bruns(vocals) and Ronny Mullenders(bass). ...
