| | Neil Young Archives Vol. 1 (1963 - 1972) CDs (2009) 1963-1972; Box Set
Its Going Down music CDs
$84.75 This eight-CD box set, with about one-third previously unreleased material, sparks the beginning of a promising series of Neil Young ARCHIVES, and serves as a document of the heady exploration and growth that the beloved artist undertook between the innocent early 1960s and the explosive early '70s. The first CD preserves some early solo demos and his work with his teenage band the Squires, a Duane Eddy-ish enterprise that made the best of Young's nascent signature guitar style--simple, effective, dramatic. The second disc covers the Buffalo Springfield years, and includes two versions of the delicious "Flying on the Ground is Wrong."
The rest is prime Young, from DEJA VU through HARVEST, with and without Crosby, Stills, and/or Nash, Stray Gators, and Crazy Horse. Album tracks mingle with previously unreleased mixes, demo versions, and sizzling live tracks, and the final disc contains the 1974 film JOURNEY THROUGH THE PAST replete with the original film trailer and other extras. Needless to say this is the most complete Neil Young collection currently available, ...

| | Sebadoh 3 Vinyl LP (1991) (Import)
Its Going Down songs
$35.69 First released in 1991, Sebadoh's III has often been described as the ultimate college rock album. Composed of hit-or-miss musical experiments like "Black Haired Gurl" and lo-fi indie rock like "The Freed Pig," with occasional combinations of both, like their oddball cover of Johnny Mathis's hit "Wonderful, Wonderful," it's perhaps the band's most enduring achievement. This remastered reissue also includes early-'90s demos and rarities, as well as their seminal "Gimme Indie Rock" EP.

Its Going Down CD music
$11.19 By the time they reunited to record 2003's Monday AT THE HUG & PINT after getting their respective solo albums out of their systems, Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton's dystopian lyrical vision of their Scottish surroundings was fully realized. The band's musical self assurance is in direct contrast to its unrelentingly stark subject matter: in Arab Strap country, joy is fleeting, emotional pain is a constant companion, and it's always raining. But the band's music is often disconcertingly sweet, as in the pastoral-sounding "Loch Leven," while "Glue," where Moffat sings in characteristically enervated fashion about ...

Its Going Down songs
$21.79 Originally released in the UK on Polydor. Includes liner notes by Jimmy Pursey and Dave Parsons.
Combining live and studio material, TELL US THE TRUTH (1978) marks the full-length debut of the U.K. punk act Sham 69. Establishing themselves as working-class counterparts to more popular and fashionable bands such as the Sex Pistols and the Clash, the Hersham-based quartet, fronted by no-nonsense shouter Jimmy Pursey, somewhat reluctantly ended up spearheading the British Oi! movement. Highlights of this fierce first outing include a rambunctious concert versions of "We Got a Fight" and "Borstal Breakout" and punchy studio renditions of "Hey Little Rich Boy" and the title track, which reveal an ever-so-slightly more polished approach. For those wanting to dive headlong into the Sham catalogue, this is the place to start.
Limited 2008 UK vinyl picture disc LP pressing of this legendary Punk album by Jimmy Pursey and the boys, their debut full length originally released in 1978. Captain Oi.
