| | Silky Soul Music: An All-Star Tribute To Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly CD (2009)
Say Somethin' So So Def CD music
$11.65 A San Francisco-based smooth R&B act with roots in Philadelphia soul, Maze (usually billed as Maze featuring Frankie Beverly) never managed to break with a larger mainstream audience during their late-`70s to early `80s peak, but nevertheless garnered a devoted following in urban radio as one of the progenitors of the romantic, understated style known as "quiet storm." And the group's jazz-funk sophistication can certainly be felt in contemporary R&B and neo-soul styles of the `90s and `00s, with some of their career highpoints ("Joy and Pain" and "Before I Let Go") being heavily sampled by hip-hop producers. SILKY SOUL MUSIC, a tribute project organized by Frankie Beverly's ...
| | Michael Jackson Bad CD (1987) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Special Edition
Say Somethin' So So Def music CDs
$7.59 Digitally remastered by Bernie Grundman (Bernie Grundman Mastering, Los Angeles, California).
Jackson's domination of the world record market continued following Thriller, although by comparison it was an almighty flop with only 12 million sales. As Pink Floyd and Dire Straits have proved, one album can go completely sales haywire without necessarily being any better. The title track and the gorgeous "Man In The Mirror" were substantial hits, but quality material such as "Dirty Diana" and "Liberian Girl" bolster a strong album. Jackson also seemed to have found the romance he seeks in "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" and "The Way You Make Me Feel." Regardless of his press, history clearly shows that he has made a lot of people very, very happy.
Additional Tracks
Recorded at Westlake Audio Studios, Los Angeles, California. Originally released on Epic (40600).
Personnel includes: Michael Jackson (vocals); Stevie Wonder (vocals, keyboards); The Winans (vocals); David Williams, Eric Gale, Steve Stevens, Bill Bottrell, Dann Huff, Michael Landau, Paul Jackson ...

Say Somethin' So So Def songs
$15.65 As an acolyte of horrorcore, a rap micro genre adorned with grisly lyrics and macabre themes, Tech N9ne is one of the more controversial and misunderstood figures in hip-hop music. Coming off the heels of his second album of collaborations, the early 2009-release SICKOLOGY 101, the ever prolific Tech released a late-2009 solo effort entitled K.O.D., painting some of his most gruesome depictions of psychosis and shock-addled lyricism yet. While the overall tone of the album is as savage and cold-blooded as ...
| | Platters All-Time Greatest Hits CD (2004) Remastered
Say Somethin' So So Def album
$11.99 Recorded between 1956 & 1967. Includes liner notes by Fred Bronson.
While this single-disc distillation of the Platters' biggest hits is superb, it's almost identical to Rhino's 1998 comp Enchanted: The Best of the Platters, except that the Rhino disc actually has everything here plus three additional tracks. None of those three extra songs are among the group's more familiar numbers, though, so in all honesty All-Time Greatest Hits will be just as sufficient for most fans. It has all 15 of their first Top Forty hits, an astonishing run that went from 1955's "Only You (And You Alone)" through 1960's "Harbor Lights," and adds the more modern soul-pop successes they landed in 1966 and 1967 with "With This Ring" and "I Love You 1000 Times." It's some of the finest, and certainly the most successful, pop-doo wop crossover music ...
| | Quadrajets Alabama Hip Shake Vinyl LP (1996)
Say Somethin' So So Def CD music
$10.59 Southern by the grace of God and not the least bit shy about reminding you of it, the Quadrajets may have been weaned on punk rock, but industrial-strength hard rock has an equal place in their hearts, and you can hear the two colliding like a pair of freight trains on the band's second full-length, 1996's Alabama Hip Shake. Cranking three big ol' guitars through amps jacked up to God knows what, the Quadrajets suggest some sort of unholy alliance between Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Damned. On Alabama Hip Shake, they not only honor both sides of the equation with equal enthusiasm, but sound as if they could outrun them both on a good day. Though the Quadrajets fail to come up with a tune as good as either "Neat Neat Neat" or "Gimmie Back My Bullets," "The Rosedale Sons of Kong," "40 wt. Dope," and "Dixie Speedway" all roar big, loud, and mean, and with more than a bit of a grin (or a smirk) around the corners. While Neil Young may never have figured on "Computer Age" sounding the way it does here, somehow he might not mind. A dozen servings of high-speed noise with both heart and muscle to spare, Alabama Hip Shake is not an album for the timid at heart, but the Quadrajets wanted it that way, and ...

Say Somethin' So So Def CD music
$24.25 One of the last fervent flag-wavers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Saxon unleashes its 18th studio release. One of the most dynamic and epic albums of the band's career, INTO THE LABYRINTH combines the Deep Purple-meets-AC/DC barroom rock with progressive, near-Teutonic metal anthems. The elements that truly make the album special are Biff Byford's laid-back, swaggering ...
