For 14 years that’s how Groucho Marx concluded his conversations with the 2500 offbeat characters, regular folks and thoroughly unusual people who were contestants on the show. They sang, they danced, they chewed wood and they blew up inner tubes. But when George Fenneman invited them to “come in please, and meet Groucho Marx,” they were immediately relegated to the role of second banana. Even the occasional celebrity guest was merely fodder for the one … the only … GROUCHO!
